What are your thoughts on [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m]? How would you pronounce it?
[name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] is a Russian name, it makes me think of Tolstoy’s War & [name_u]Peace[/name_u]. It’s pronounced Nik-uh-lie.
I think it’s usable but people will assume there’s a Russian connection.
[name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] has a nice sound and flow! I’d pronounce it nik-uh-lye
I really love [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m], to me it’s a refreshing version of [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]. It’s very strong, which I really like! I’d pronounce it like you spell it, so not nik-uh-lie, but nik-O-lai, the a in “ai” would be hearable.
I say NIK-uh-lie, and it’s one of my all time favourite names! There’s something really warm, playful, adorable, and youthful about it, but I think it matures well too. I also love the nickname options of [name_u]Niko[/name_u], [name_u]Kai[/name_u], and [name_m]Kolya[/name_m].
I love the name Nikolai!! I have always used the neek-oh-lie pronunciation.
Oh I love [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m]! Sounds regal to me, it has a plethora of nicknames so it’s quite accesible and I think it’s fairly easy to spell and pronounce!
