Maybe it could be a nickname for [name]Nicole[/name] or a version of [name]Nicole[/name] if it cannot stand alone???
I don’t know if it would be very usable, because at least for me, it makes me think of [name]Richard[/name] [name]Nixon[/name].
Totally unusable, [name]IMO[/name]. [name]Nix[/name] means “nothing” as a noun and “to veto or reject” as a verb. I would use it only on a very stubborn cat.
It’ll be cute as a nickname.
It’d be a really cute nickname, but not suitable as a given name. I love [name]Pixie[/name], which is similar, but can’t find a longer version I like enough to use. I’d say use it as a nickname
I think it’s very cute. I think a nixie is a water spirit … in [name]German[/name] folklore maybe? I have liked it for a while and have been trying to think of what it could be a nickname for besides [name]Nicole[/name].
I like it!
Yeah, my first thought was the water spirit. It reminds me very much of [name]Pixie[/name]. It’s a bit too cutesy for my tastes and I don’t think it would age wonderfully, but I don’t think that it’s completely unusable. I think it would work very well as a nickname for [name]Nicole[/name] or something similar.
It’s cute! I really love [name]Pixie[/name], but mostly in theory. I think it sounds a bit British quirky.
Nickname only, imo!
I prefer it as a nn for something longer, but I disagree that it is totally unusable. If [name]Dixie[/name] is a common enough name in the Southern United States, or even [name]Maisie[/name] or [name]Macey[/name] in other places, then why not [name]Nixie[/name]?
