Not [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]!
I like [name_f]Liza[/name_f], but if you like [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] then go with that. It works fine.
I think you should wait until she’s here and see what comes naturally. I do like [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] though.
I’m considering [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] if our gender surprise baby this summer is a girl, and I’m thinking of using [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] as a nickname. [name_m]Just[/name_m] another option. But of what you’ve listed, I like [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] best. Agree that [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is overused, and I’m not a fan of [name_f]Liza[/name_f].
Have you considered using the full name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]? I see the appeal of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] over [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but chose [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in the end because of the many nickname possibilities.
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], and [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], and [name_f]Bess[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], and [name_f]Libby[/name_f] (biased, obv )
I don’t think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] needs one, but I do love [name_u]Izzy[/name_u]! That’s my favorite from your options, and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], and [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] is super cute.
Only looking at your list I’d definitely prefer [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. Like you suggested, [name_f]Liza[/name_f] is just too much “[name_f]Liza[/name_f] Minelli” and I have never liked [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] anyway. But that’s just personal preference.
However I do also think that [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is too close to [name_u]Ollie[/name_u].
Have you thought about other options? The first two that came to my mind were [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] - I’ve always loved those two!
Other options might be:
[name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] (Somehow the extra “L” makes me like this a lot better than [name_u]Izzy[/name_u]) and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f].
In the end I think you’ll have to go with whatever feels “right”/natural.
Good luck!
I like [name_u]Izzy[/name_u]. It’s less expected than the other two, and it would go well with [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u].
It seems to me that your favourite is [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], after reading your description of each NN. I think [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] works.
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] are just perfect together btw.
You can’t use [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]. [name_f]Liza[/name_f] is the same name as [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] out loud, basically. [name_m]Say[/name_m] them casually and quickly like you would in a normal convo to compare. Besides, [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is already a shortform, so it doesn’t need a nickname, although I don’t really like the sound of [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
[name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] is so cute, though! So I recommend… [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]! [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] sounds perfect to me!
I personally wouldn’t plan a nickname for [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], because I feel like none of the options out there feel “natural”. They can come across a bit forced, if you know what I mean. But that’s just me.
For [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] I’d actually prefer [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f], but from yours I’d go with [name_u]Izzy[/name_u].
I agree with anyagreenwich that if you love the nickname [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] you might want to name her [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], which goes great with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]!
