Nn Yves for babyboy name Evren?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] dear Berries !

So I’ve fallen in love with the name [name_u]Evren[/name_u] for a boy. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is Turkish and I am french, and I was thinking i love the nickname [name_f]Evi[/name_f] or Ev more than [name_u]Ren[/name_u] i think as a nickname. I also like [name_u]Ever[/name_u] … but then I was think if [name_f]Evi[/name_f] or [name_f]Evy[/name_f] is too feminine (which first of all, do you all think it is too feminine?) I would actually want to pronounce it like [name_u]Levi[/name_u] but with out the L – so more like EE-Vye - how would you spell that?

Otherwise do you think spelling [name_m]Yves[/name_m] pronounce [name_f]Eve[/name_f] could be a nickname for [name_u]Evren[/name_u]? or too confusing? I kind of love it but not sure if works…

Would love your thoughts and also in general thoughts on nicknames for [name_u]Evren[/name_u]

Thank you !

First of all, I love both [name_u]Evren[/name_u] and [name_m]Yves[/name_m] so I am fully on board with you getting to use both with [name_m]Yves[/name_m] as a nn for [name_u]Evren[/name_u]. Is it a stretch? Yes, but I am still in favour!
[name_f]Evi[/name_f] with the pronunciation you want is a tricky one. If you are living in the US, you might be able to do Evai, as I have found that ‘ai’ is commonly said with the ‘long i’ sound. No, because they are nns I wouldn’t say [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (said like [name_f]English[/name_f] [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and spelt [name_f]Evi[/name_f] or [name_f]Evy[/name_f] ) is too feminine. It’s very sweet for anyone.
Other possible names for [name_u]Evren[/name_u]: [name_m]Ven[/name_m], [name_u]Nev[/name_u], [name_u]Rennie[/name_u]

[name_u]Evren[/name_u] is very cool :sunglasses:

I love the nn [name_u]Ever[/name_u], Ev, and [name_f]Evi[/name_f] for [name_u]Evren[/name_u]. I do not love the nn [name_m]Yves[/name_m] for two reasons:

  1. It is confusing.
  2. It doesn’t start with the same letter as [name_u]Evren[/name_u]. This may not be a big deal to some people, but I am someone who exclusively goes by my nickname that doesn’t start with the same letter as my first name, and it is annoying. In this case, especially since [name_m]Yves[/name_m] sounds like it should start with “E”, I would spell it with an E first.

That said, Ever/Ev are my favorite of your nicknames anyway

[name_u]Levy[/name_u] is a word in [name_f]English[/name_f] if that’s what you’re looking for and how I would spell that but it’s more like “Lev-ee”

[name_u]Levi[/name_u] without the E I would say [name_f]Evy[/name_f]. I also don’t think [name_m]Yves[/name_m] goes to well but it might work better on an international plane.

I think it’s confusing to spell it as [name_m]Yves[/name_m].

[name_f]Evy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] are nice nicknames for [name_u]Evren[/name_u]. As nicknames they aren’t too feminine.

[name_u]Evren[/name_u] is lovely! I don’t think Ev and [name_f]Evi[/name_f] are too feminine - I’ve known Elliots called Ells and [name_f]Ell[/name_f].

I think it would be hard to get people to pronounce [name_f]Evi[/name_f] like [name_u]Levi[/name_u] from reading it, especially if they knew full name was [name_u]Evren[/name_u]. It think it would be said ee-vee or ev-ee? Maybe [name_f]Eevi[/name_f]? Evye?

I think [name_m]Yves[/name_m] could work if you really wanted it to, but it might be hard to explain? Maybe with the right middle?

[name_u]Evren[/name_u] [name_m]Laurent[/name_m] (like a play on [name_m]Yves[/name_m] St Laurent) or [name_u]Evren[/name_u] [name_u]Yeats[/name_u] / [name_u]Evren[/name_u] [name_m]Yates[/name_m]? [name_u]Evren[/name_u] [name_m]Sylas[/name_m]? [name_u]Evren[/name_u] [name_m]Myles[/name_m]?
