Which spelling would be best? note the diaeresis means that both names are pronounced No-el.

I like [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] better.
I prefer Noëlle because it’s more clearly a girls’ name, versus Noël (or [name_u]Noel[/name_u]) which is used on both genders. Also, [name_u]Noel[/name_u] is often pronounced like “knoll” so spelling it Noëlle makes the pronunciation more intuitive too. I like that you’re using the umlaut, it’s nice to see an accent where it should be!
[name_u]Noel[/name_u] is masculine , so I would go with [name_f]Noelle[/name_f].
[name_m]Even[/name_m] with the trema, [name_u]Noel[/name_u] is intuitively masculine to me, so I would go with [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], with or without the trema.

If you’re using the umlaut then you don’t need the extra ‘le’ as it’s implied by the mark.

[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. The one [name_u]Noel[/name_u] I’ve known (female) hated that everyone considered her name a boys’ name. It was also mispronounced as knoll a lot, too.
I much prefer [name_f]Noelle[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] over all, without the trema.
As the dots will get dropped more than you’d like (should you live in a non-[name_m]French[/name_m]-speaking country), I’d go with the feminine spelling for a girl as you will get the No-elle pronunciation for sure even if the umlaut ends up an “e” at times.
[name_u]Noel[/name_u] for a boy, [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] for a girl.
I would probably save the fuss and go with [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] (without dieresis) since in English, the extra -le functions the same as the dieresis in making it clear that the “oe” is not a diphthong. If you are a Francophone family that’s different, and Noëlle’s fine.
Because accent marks are often left off of forms and databases, I’d stick to [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] or Noëlle. Once Noël loses its dieresis, she’ll have people calling her “nole.”

I like Noël for a girl but it has that boy ring too much for me I think Noëlle/Noële is better!

I prefer Noëlle, it just looks better to me, plus Noël can also be pronounced like “nole” so that might cause some problems.
I really love the simplicity of Noël. Especially with the popularity of the -elle ending.
I’ve always liked this name. I knew a girl in high school named [name_u]Noel[/name_u] (pronounced no-elle) and I never once heard her name pronounced incorrectly (I’m in [name_u]California[/name_u]).
I love [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] and the sound is so musical and warm.
I think a lot of it will depend on where you live. People from or near [name_m]French[/name_m] speaking countries or regions will likely pronounce it [name_m]Nole[/name_m] and it’s true that the accent mark will be dropped by a lot of people and machines.
If you feel that would bother you or be a problem in your area I would go with [name_f]Noelle[/name_f].
If you prefer the simplicity of Noël though, and feel that it won’t be an issue, then don’t let people bully you into making it a big deal.

[name_u]Noel[/name_u] sounds like it should rhyme with [name_m]Joel[/name_m]. It also appears male. It’s a [name_m]French[/name_m] name, and the -elle ending signifies that it should be definitively female.
