Noelle not born near Christmas?

Is it ok use the name [name]Noelle[/name] (probably for a mn) for a baby born in [name]May[/name] or [name]June[/name]? My sister’s mn is [name]Noel[/name] (my mom now admits that she spelled it wrong) and she was born a few days after [name]Christmas[/name]. On a similar note, I know an [name]April[/name] who’s birthday is in [name]September[/name], I think it is a little wierd.

[name]Hi[/name]! I personally think it’s fine to name a non-[name]Christmas[/name] baby [name]Noelle[/name], and I love how the name honors your sister.

I know of an [name]April[/name] born in winter and a [name]Summer[/name] born in [name]October[/name], and I never thought twice about their birthdates. It may seem unusual to some though, but if you’re comfortable with a non-[name]Christmas[/name] [name]Noelle[/name], I think it’s a very pretty name.

Good luck!

I think it would be OK. I have a bit of the same problem with [name]April[/name] in Spetember also though as i promised my hubby our first born girl would be [name]Summer[/name], however now that we are currently TTC, The thought of having a [name]Summer[/name] in Sep, Oct, Nov, so on and so forth drives me a little bonkers. I think [name]Noelle[/name] is fine cause i dont think most people association [name]Noelle[/name] with [name]Christmas[/name] time, I personally didnt think of it as anythign having to do with [name]Christmas[/name] till i came to this site. So i agree [name]April[/name] bron in [name]September[/name] is a little bit off to me, but [name]Noelle[/name] born in [name]May[/name] is fine.

I think its kind of funny how your mom spelt it wrong cause i was suggestiong names to my hubby and i spelt [name]Noelle[/name] [name]Noel[/name], because at first it made sense then he was like No thats weird and i said [name]How[/name]? Its just a pretty name! And then he said [name]Noel[/name]? pronounced No-l? Haha i realized [name]Noel[/name] is a male name, and pornounced very diffrent from [name]Noelle[/name]. I just thought it was a little silly:)

I don’t think it matters at all, it is the love of the name that counts.

[name]Natalie[/name] is a [name]Christmas[/name] name " [name]Natal[/name]" if this helps at all… I think it is in the top 100 for sure…
so [name]Noelle[/name] is fine for other birthdays of the year…
Very pretty name!

I named my first dog [name]Noel[/name] cause she was a [name]Christmas[/name] gift; I cant see [name]Noel[/name]/[name]Noelle[/name] being a name for anyone not born on or near [name]Christmas[/name] or in the winter. But thats just my opinion.

Good luck.

[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Noelle[/name] and think that you should go for it. It’s hard to find a name that everyone agrees on and loves, so if you’ve found it you shouldn’t let the time of year sway you from it.

[name]Just[/name] be prepared for a lot of people to ask you/her if she was born around [name]Christmas[/name].

Thanks for all your help! I now feel comfortable using [name]Noelle[/name] for a summer baby. I don’t know for sure if [name]Noelle[/name] will be the middle name, but it is definetly near the top of my list.

I still haven’t changed my mind about month names (for my own children). I think a baby born in [name]April[/name] should be called [name]April[/name], not [name]September[/name] or [name]June[/name].

I agree with you on all levels about that! Because i dont think [name]Noelle[/name] is really all that associated with christmas time, for us name people yea sure, but if i were to ask my husband or someone on the street chances are most people wouldnt assume it has anything to do with christmas.

I do agree with you 100% on month/season names. It seems so weird to me to have a [name]April[/name] born in Spetemeber, a [name]June[/name] born in [name]March[/name] and [name]May[/name] born in [name]January[/name] while having a sibling names [name]January[/name] who was born in [name]May[/name]. It seems very backwards to me! [name]Winter[/name] should be born within the 3 or 4 winter months (mainly i would hope Nov, Dec, [name]Jan[/name], Feb) and [name]Summer[/name] in the summer months (being [name]May[/name], [name]Jun[/name], Jul, and the first week of [name]August[/name]). I totally agree with you! Hahaha i think its weird any other way.

I agree with [name]Jill[/name] - [name]Noelle[/name] is a beautiful name, whether used near [name]Christmas[/name] or not.

My name is [name]Noelle[/name], and I was not born around [name]Christmas[/name]. I didn’t like my name very much when I was younger, since it was so different from everyone else in my class. Now that I’m older, I love it, and it always is a great ice breaker when meeting new people.

To anyone who speaks french or is familiar with [name]Noel[/name] meaning [name]Christmas[/name] in french the association between [name]Noel[/name] and [name]Christmas[/name] is obviously huge. That being said I think it would be ok to use [name]Noel[/name] but spelled [name]Noelle[/name] if it’s for a girl. [name]Noel[/name] pronounced either as [name]Noll[/name] or No-el is masculine. Congrats!
