1.) What vibes does the name [name_f]Nola[/name_f] give you?
DH & I we’re engaged in [name_f]NOLA[/name_f] ([name_m]New[/name_m] Orleans, [name_f]Louisiana[/name_f]) & I thought it could be a really cool little tribute name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering if it fits the style we normally like.
2.) [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]? Does it flow okay or not?
3.) Can you see sisters [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] & [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]? What type of sibset would you call them?
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] go fantastically together! I love the meaning behind [name_f]Nola[/name_f]. [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is doable, but I don’t think it’s the best combo.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] is after my husbands grandma, [name_f]Alicia[/name_f]. Pipers middle name, [name_f]Joy[/name_f], is after my grandma. He really wanted to name our second daughter after his grandma this time. And she doesn’t have a middle name, of course.
I figured it was a family name. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is lovely and while it doesn’t go perfectly with [name_f]Nola[/name_f], it would be a lovely tribute for his grandma!
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] have the same spunky vibe and would make lovely sisters. I don’t love the flow of [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] but it has sentimental value to you which is way more important than flow in my opinion.
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Nola[/name_f] but with your meaningful connection I think it would make a lovely middle. I much prefer [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Nola[/name_f] would be good.
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] doesn’t flow the best, but I think the significance of [name_f]Alice[/name_f] outweighs that. [name_m]How[/name_m] often are you really going to be saying her full name? [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is a sweet name by itself, has meaning to yourself and your husband, and fits with [name_u]Piper[/name_u].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Nola[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]! [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is nice but if you wanted to get the best possible you could try a name similar to [name_f]Alice[/name_f] as a tribute, such as [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Alicia[/name_f], etc. Or you could go for a double middle like [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or something else. However, if you like [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] I think it is perfectly lovely as is!
We’d like to keep the family name ([name_f]Alice[/name_f]) in the middle for tradition purposes. So [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Nola[/name_f] isn’t an option for us. We COULD use a different family name in the middle. We really wanted to use something from my husbands side of the family this time, but he doesn’t have anyone else he’d like to honor that way besides his grandma! On my side we have [name_f]Nancy[/name_f], [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Nola[/name_f] and I think it fits wonderfully with sister [name_u]Piper[/name_u] without sounding too matchy. To me they have the same modern and spunky vibe. To me the significance of a honor name is definitely more important than flow, and you probably won’t use the first and middle name together much in daily life.
