Norah, Oscar and?

[name_f]Norah[/name_f] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] will have a brother or sister in [name_u]October[/name_u]. We’re all very excited but totally lost when it comes to names. Hubby’s family is Germam so the name has to work in both [name_f]English[/name_f] and [name_m]German[/name_m].

I’ve got a few I like but my DH has a weird story for each of them :frowning:

For a girl I quite like [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Edda[/name_f], [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Cara[/name_f].

Boys names on my list: [name_m]Hector[/name_m], [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m].

Can’t wait for your suggestions!

For girl:

For a boy:

I looked at some of the top names in [name_u]Germany[/name_u] right now for some suggestions! I love [name_f]Norah[/name_f] and Oscar!!

Girls (I tried to get shorter names, most ending in A as that is what it looks like your style is!)
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] (if he has a weird story for [name_f]Ada[/name_f] he might like this instead!)
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] (instead of Cara!)

[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] (Very similar to Casper)
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] (sort of like [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] & [name_m]Hector[/name_m] combined!)
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] (has vin sound like Vincent!)
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] (Finn rhymes with [name_m]Vin[/name_m] the beginning of Vincent!)

I love [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] , [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Edda[/name_f], [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Cara[/name_f]

I will recommend an M or P name

  • have an ‘O’
  • are 2 syllables
  • have the same letter length and visual length

Don’t know to what extend any of these matter in your naming calculus, but they’re worth pointing out!

Some names that fit some of the above characterizations:

  • [name_m]Hector[/name_m] - on your list, this fits all of the points!
  • [name_u]Oliver[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Owen[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Rosco[/name_m]
  • Volko
  • [name_u]Boris[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Milo[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Collin[/name_m]

  • [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Liora[/name_f] ** - has the same o, r, and a of the first two names
  • Cora** - has the same o, r, and a of the siblings’ names

I love all of your ideas!

You have great taste, [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] are both on my list.

I really love all of your boy choices!

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] -when I took German in school, we all got given a German “name” and this was mine

[name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Cara[/name_f] are great!

[name_f]Norah[/name_f], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and…

[name_f]Norah[/name_f], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] &

[name_m]Alfred[/name_m] “Alfie”
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] “Freddy”
[name_u]Francis[/name_u] “Frankie”

So many lovely names, thank you!

Hubby is warming to [name_f]Ida[/name_f] (pronounced Ee-da), and I sneaked [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Lina[/name_f] onto the list of girls names. He suggested [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] which I’m not too keen on. I also like [name_f]Tilda[/name_f] but my sister’s oldest is called Mathilda…

DH suggested [name_m]Eric[/name_m] for a boy which I’m very slowly warming to. He also wanted to add [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] which was a firm NO from me. From your suggestions, I like [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and Lucas…and so far DH hasn’t come up with a story about those
