I am a longtime fan of the name [name_f]Norah[/name_f], it is our top contender for a future girl if we have one.
Being British I have always known the name as [name_f]Norah[/name_f] (a la [name_f]Norah[/name_f] [name_m]Jones[/name_m]), but here on the boards it seems like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is the more traditional spelling and definitely the more common US spelling.
Which do you prefer? I’m expecting a high proportion of [name_f]Nora[/name_f]'s from US berries so also, do you mind the [name_f]Norah[/name_f] spelling as an alternative? The H just feels more complete to me, but maybe it’s just what I’m used to seeing.
I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is way prettier than [name_f]Norah[/name_f], but that’s maybe because where I come from we don’t really have the H ending in names like [name_f]Sara[/name_f], [name_f]Lea[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f] etc
I’m a UK berry and would have gone for [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. Whichever works best for you is the better option, though, either way people should get the pronunciation right.
I prefer [name_f]Nora[/name_f] over [name_f]Norah[/name_f] but then again I prefer [name_f]Sara[/name_f] over [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] and [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] over [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. The silent h at the end just seems so unnecessary.
However, [name_f]Norah[/name_f] is fine and I would’t think it is a problem if that is what you prefer.
I like both, actually! Both look complete to me but I would instinctively spell it [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I’m from the UK and I’m not sure who [name_f]Norah[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] is.
