Not name obsessed? I dont understand

I dont know that this really belongs in this category but I just wanted to say how nice it is to be able to read and talk to others who are obsessed with all things names. I have several pregnant friends who are due around the same time as me but they seem to have NO interest in talking about names. I have offered to help them find names or to chat through ideas and they mostly say things like… "oh I haven’t really thought about it " [name_u]Or[/name_u] “… I dont know… just something normal is fine”. They just dont really care about picking a name. I just don’t get how this works!?

Anyone else feel like you desperately want to name your friends babies because they aren’t putting any effort into it? :rofl:

Luckily my husband is interested and willing to constantly throw names around and come up with crazy ideas and combos. Otherwise I would probably go nuts!

Yes! I said the same thing too when I found out nameberry had forums! I joined the forums not too long ago and I love that there is an actual community for people who just love names. A lot of the people on the forums aren’t even expecting or parents, they are just name connoisseurs and I love that.

I totally agree! I don’t get how people just… Pick a name… and that’s it. It took us months of constantly throwing names around until we finally settled on our baby’s name, with a lot of posts to nameberry also, and I still question if we made the right choice sometimes. I can’t imagine getting pregnant and just being like “eh [name_u]John[/name_u] is fine.”

This exactly! I don’t even want kids. It’s nice to be able to be a part of a community like this where people just appreciate names. :slight_smile:

Lol I feel the same about people in my closest circle, and I’ve never been able to understand their lack of interest either. :rofl: To each their own I guess, but the world around us is literally filled with so many amazing gems! :gem: I feel lucky to have found a community like this

This is how we end up with 50,000 Olivia’s, Liam’s, Emma’s, Aiden’s, Mia’s, etc.
