I’ve still two weeks to go until my next ultrasound -when i will hopefully discover whether Baby T is a boy or girl. Thanks for your help with girl names last week! Now, on to boy names…
DH had a dream a couple years ago that he had a son named John. Hence, Baby T’s fn must be John. I’ve already tried dissuading DH but instead ended up convincing myself that it was okay (it’s quite a common family name, though no living person is using it at the moment) as long as he had an interesting mn and a cute, fun nn. I have a favourite already, BUT here’s my list of possibilities. I’d love your feedback and ideas for good nns.
Also, with a name like John and my penchant for traditional, classic boys names, there tend to be tons of famous people in history with similar names. If you think of someone terrible who shares the name and you would NEVER name a child that for some reason, please let me know too.
OH, and nns Jay and Johnny and Jono are out because we use them for my brother.

John Nathaniel (my mom likes this one because they kind of smoosh and sound like my brother’s name -I love my brother, but maybe two people with the same sounding name in one family is a bit too much. I don’t want my child being called “little Jonathan” all his life! He would need a good nn)
John Samuel (a friend named her son Jean Samuel (French spelling of the same name) 2 years ago, not sure if this means it’s not available…)
John Zachary (nn? -I really like the meaning of Zachary))
John William (William is another family name… my uncle would be THRILLED, nn?)

John Francis (nn JF or Jeff -not sure I like the meaning “from France”, although Francis can also mean “free”)
