NPR names

I listen to NPR on my way to work in the mornings and am always stunned by how great each journalist’s name is! Maybe it has something to do with being read in that news-y voice or just the fact that it’s on the radio, but some of them are really cool!

So here are some actual NPR journalists (whose names I love):

[name_u]Windsor[/name_u] [name_m]Johnston[/name_m]
[name_m]Steve[/name_m] Inskeep
Korva [name_m]Coleman[/name_m]
[name_u]Audie[/name_u] Cornish
Cokie [name_m]Roberts[/name_m]
[name_u]Ari[/name_u] Shapiro

Mine aren’t as good but here are my best attempts:

[name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] [name_m]Lorenz[/name_m]
Wimberly [name_m]Davis[/name_m]
[name_u]Sinclare[/name_u] [name_m]Dempsy[/name_m]
[name_u]Gervase[/name_u] [name_m]King[/name_m]
[name_m]Seymour[/name_m] [name_m]Westbrook[/name_m]
[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] Waters

I’d love to hear yours!

What about Neda Ulaby or [name_f]Lakshmi[/name_f] Singh or [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] [name_u]Kim[/name_u]? Neda is pronounced N-edda. I think the names are interesting for the different cultural influences they represent. I like your made up names and could totally see them as NPR reporters!

Here are some more fake ones:

[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m]
[name_m]Richard[/name_m] Moreno
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f] Choe
[name_f]Dharma[/name_f] [name_u]Campbell[/name_u]
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] Yang
[name_f]Paula[/name_f] Pucci
Esin [name_m]Lazaro[/name_m]
Suda Billotte
[name_f]Ghislaine[/name_f] [name_m]King[/name_m]

This is fun! I’m not in the US but my favourites from BBC radio are [name_m]Zeb[/name_m] Soanes (short for [name_m]Zebedee[/name_m]!) and Wyre [name_m]Davis[/name_m] (pronounced Wirra – it’s a Celtic river name). Also Bettany [name_m]Hughes[/name_m] and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_m]Robinson[/name_m].

I have loved the name [name_u]Audie[/name_u] since I heard [name_u]Audie[/name_u] Cornish on NPR! It’s also my husband’s great grandmother’s name, so I’m trying to get him on board with using it!

I also love Ramtin Arablouei and Rund Abdefatah from the Throughline podcast!
