Oakley

What’s everyone’s opinion on the name [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] for a boy?

Reminds me too much of [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] [name_u]Oakley[/name_u], and it’s a bit too cutesy

It reminds me too much of the words croak and prickly combined.

I live in Idaho and this is the #1 girls name right now so I hear it A LOT. I think it’s cute but very, very trendy.

I like the sound of it. It def feels trendy and a little cute, though that’s not necessarily a bad thing. (Girls get cute names all the time!!!)
I think of it more as a boy’s name, btw.

I adore this name but for me it’s a girls name and will be my little girls name when I have one! To be it’s more feminine and suits a female better.

I like it a lot, I even like it on a boy. However, nature names and names starting in a vowel and ending in -ly are very trendy for girls right now so most people will probably be surprised to meet a male [name_u]Oakley[/name_u]. There is also the fact that some people will associate the name with [name_f]Annie[/name_f] [name_u]Oakley[/name_u].

It doesn’t roll off my tongue so I don’t particularly like it, it feels awkward from the k to the l sounds. It has become trendy where I live though so I guess others like it, I’ve come across a handful.

Not a fan of the name in general.

I love it for a boy! So sweet!

I love [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] on both genders. I can’t decide which I prefer it on.

I think of [name_m]Ned[/name_m] Flanders from The Simpsons and his “okily dokily” phrase. It’s not a bad thing per se, it’s just what I immediately thought of. I don’t like it for a boy or girl.

It seems very trendy to me but could work on a boy or a girl equally. I like [name_u]Oak[/name_u] on its own, maybe as a middle name.

I think [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] is a nice name. Its nms personally, but I like the sound of it.
My first thought was [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] sunglasses, but also [name_f]Annie[/name_f] [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] and [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] [name_u]Oakley[/name_u]. No negative associations to me.

I think [name_u]Oak[/name_u] is a cool nn option, too!
([name_u]Oakley[/name_u] also seems like more of a boy name to me!)

I love this name! [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] is the top boys name that my husband and I agree on, and there’s a pretty good chance it could be the name of our future boy, if we ever have one. I love it much more for a boy then a girl, it hardly occurs to me as a girls name actually. I love the natural feel of [name_u]Oakley[/name_u], if I have an [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] I would love to use the nickname [name_m]Oaks[/name_m]!

I’d feel kinda bad for that little fella…

It’s very modern/trendy so it feels like it will be reminiscent of the 2000s. I don’t think it’s awful, just not a fan.
