Now that [name]Luca[/name] is going on four months and I’m getting a bit more sleep, I’ve starting obsessing about what I’m going to name his future siblings. I’m actually wondering if I’ll be able to name them at all! My husband and I are both half Italian, so we like that [name]Luca[/name] is Italian but still “goes” with our more [name]German[/name]-sounding last name (husband’s other half is [name]German[/name]/Polish). Below are all of the stipulations for future names.
Can’t begin with R or L
Can’t end in -r, or -ra
Goes with [name]Luca[/name], but isn’t overly “matchy” (so doesn’t necessarily need to be Italian)
Goes with our [name]German[/name]-sounding last name (very similar to Rothman)
Middle names for girls: [name]Celeste[/name], [name]Magdalena[/name] or [name]Camilla[/name] (preferably [name]Celeste[/name])
Middle names for boys: [name]John[/name], [name]Paul[/name] or [name]Winston[/name] (or some combination)
Names we like but can’t use for various reasons: [name]Clara[/name], [name]Lila[/name], [name]Simon[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Ada[/name], [name]Milo[/name], [name]Eudora[/name], [name]Hugo[/name]
I’m in love with [name]Paloma[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] or [name]Delphine[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] but I’m not sure they go with our last name. For boys, lately I like [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Paul[/name] (but [name]Sebastian[/name] is way too popular for my tastes). And of course I still have a soft spot for [name]Annabel[/name]!
[name]Jill[/name], you have such a good memory! Yes, my mn is [name]Dorothea[/name]. I have thought about using it, even though I use to hate it Of course when I was a kid I wanted to be [name]Cindy[/name].
I knew you’d think of some names I hadn’t considered”[name]Dahlia[/name], [name]Mirabelle[/name], and [name]SImone[/name] are all going on the girl’s list. For boys, I think [name]Cassius[/name] is amazing! Can’t believe I haven’t thought of that since I love many of the -us names! I actually love [name]Raphael[/name] too but would have to work on DH with that one.
You sound exactly like me! Mine is just over four months and I’m completely obsessed with what his future siblings will be named. Is it me, or does it seem a little more fun now to think about future baby names, already having one as a jumping off point? I seem to be more obsessed with names now than ever before.`And I’m so with you on the rules, I’m just starting to figure out what endings work best with my last name, lol. Fun stuff. I can’t right now, but I’ll be back to play by your rules soon.
Good”I’m glad I’m not alone! You have little [name]Dashiell[/name], right? I love his name. It’s definitely helpful having a start point now, although I’ve also had to say goodbye to some favorites ([name]Leo[/name], [name]Lila[/name]) now we have a [name]Luca[/name]! What sib names are you thinking about?
I also have an obsession with sibling names for my daughter who is just 2 months now! I love [name]Annabelle[/name]” but it doesn”t work with our last name. You already have a lot of great choices but here are a few more.
