Does the beach you met at have an interesting name you could use? Is there any specific beaches where you and your SO would go together? Maybe a beach place name would work well for you!

@shells15 list is full of treasures!

Merida’s meaning is not connected to the sea, but [name_f]Meri[/name_f] is so [name_f]Merida[/name_f] might be a longer name option.
[name_f]Esteri[/name_f] is a Finnish variation of [name_f]Esther[/name_f], meaning star, however I think it sounds like estuary, where the river meets the sea :ocean:

If people don’t mind, I may go through later to see if there are any names I hadn’t seen before and add them to my list. It is one of my favourite name categories.

There’s already a lot of a great suggestions including many of my favorites. Here’s a several more that I thought of

[name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] - Greek god of the ocean; equivalent of [name_u]Neptune[/name_u]
[name_f]Amphitrite[/name_f] - Greek sea-goddess, wife of [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m], mother of [name_m]Triton[/name_m], personification of the sea water
Nymph or Nymphadora
Nereid - sea nymphs (female spirits of sea waters), the 50 daughters of [name_m]Nereus[/name_m] and [name_f]Doris[/name_f], and are sisters to their brother Nerites
Islands like [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] and [name_m]Cyprus[/name_m]

[name_f]Maya[/name_f]/Maia - has many meanings but nb says one of the meanings for [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is water but I don’t know how accurate that is. [name_f]Maia[/name_f] is the oldest of the Pleiades, daughters of the sea-nymph Pleione
Thủy = large body of water; ocean. Pronounced like “twee” in Vietnamese. Girl’s name (or possibly unisex)
Nautilus - it’s a shelled marine animal and I’m probably the only one who likes this as a name lol
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]/Margot - means pearl which is made by an oyster in the sea
[name_f]Venus[/name_f] - [name_f]Goddess[/name_f] born from sea foam, often depicted standing on a scallop shell. [name_m]Roman[/name_m] equivalent of [name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f]
Maybe some waterbirds like [name_f]Swan[/name_f], Seagal, egret, [name_m]Crane[/name_m], Albatross
[name_f]Swanhild/name_f
[name_f]Odette[/name_f] - means swan
Other bodies of water not necessarily the ocean: Lagoon, [name_u]Bay[/name_u], [name_u]Marsh[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u]

Edit: Just realized Morgan hasn’t been mentioned - means sea-born, sea-song or sea-circle
Rhea/Opalia - nb says “a flowing stream” in Greek
Selkie - mythical sea creatures

Similarly, [name_m]Oisin[/name_m]/Osheen/Osian (means little dear) sounds similar to [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] and for some reason, [name_f]Raya[/name_f] makes me think of [name_u]River[/name_u] even though they don’t sound similar
