I recently came across this name and realized that I like it a lot! It has a very strong, mysterious, and beautiful sound. I’m just not sure if it is too far-fetched to work in real life. What do you Berries think of it? Also, it seems a nickname would be useful. What nickname would you use? Could [name_u]Shea[/name_u] work?
[name_f]EDIT[/name_f]: I am also curious…do you pronounce it oh-she-anna or oh-she-ahna? Or maybe some completely different way?
I’ve wondered about this too… As far as nicknames go, I think you could go with Ocea? That’s actually the reason I was interested in it, because I really like Ocea for some reason, but it seems a little abrupt for a full name. [name_u]Shea[/name_u] is a nice nickname too.
I do think it’s a little unusual in real life, but I don’t think anyone would be too alarmed by it.
I’m not really sure about pronunciation… I mostly only thought about the Ocea part, which was kind of like O-she-uh, but all in two syllables? [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] without the N… I think I like oh-she-anna better, of the two you mentioned. Could you do oh-she-na? Or oh-shea-na? I’m not a huge fan of names that end in [name_f]Anna[/name_f], but if you did oh-she-anna that would also give you [name_f]Anna[/name_f] as a nickname.
@shalexis: Ocea is a cool nickname idea, thanks! I don’t normally like names ending in [name_f]Anna[/name_f] either, but this one just appeals to me for some reason.
I would probably say Oh-shee-ah-nah. [name_f]Ana[/name_f] for short would be rather sweet, I think. It’s a unique nature name but not way out there. Sounds just a little mystical, in a good way!
I know of a mutual friend named [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] in real life. I mean clearly it is usable but I thought it was a bit far-fetched for a name. I don’t think it caused her any trauma so I definitely know it could work as a name, though it is not my cup of tea so I myself would never use it.
