Oh Imogen

This is one I always seem to go back and forth with. I know a lot of people don’t get the appeal and at first I didn’t either. I’m still not sure if I hate it, love it or both. However, lately I’m loving it more and more. I think it’s rather odd but I like odd. I like the link to [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] Heap and Immi is such a cute NN. What are your honest opinions on this name? [name_m]Just[/name_m] dish it out. Also, how do you pronounce it?

I pronounce this name IMM-ah-jun (I’m from Australia). I know three or four Imogens, and most of them go by the nn Imy. I used to love the name, but my high school bully was unfortunately called [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]… so the name quickly lost all charm.
Objectively, though, I think it’s a nice name. I like the nn Idgi, I think it’s adorable.

I’m from the United States, and I say it IMM-oh-jen. Only slightly different than jem’s pronunciation. I’ve never known anyone with the name [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. I’m kind of on the fence about [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] myself; it’s never been a favourite of mine, but I don’t hate it. I just feel like there are prettier names out there to be used for girls. If you love it though, don’t let my opinion bog you down! I never even thought of the nn Immi for [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] before! It’s very cute, and I actually think the ‘I’ spelling looks more interesting than the similar [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]/[name_f]Emmie[/name_f].

I really like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]! She has both a spunky and an elegant feel to me. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] was the main character in a book I read as I child and I’ve had a soft spot for the name ever since (I actually don’t even remember the book!). [name_f]Immy[/name_f] or [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] are both cute nicknames.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - I like a name that has a cute nn for childhood but can also be a senator name for adulthood. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is at once dreamy and girly as well as strong and smart. It’s a real name but not well known. Full disclosure our daughter was [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] for a day but then for some reason we both felt she wasn’t an [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. But I still [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name.
