I don’t post hardly at all anymore because I am STILL trying to get pregnant. (It’s been a while ya’ll.) And I feel like I know ALL the names already xD LOL But I just heard one today that I haven’t heard before. I heard it on a vlog actually, and the name is… [name_f]Sadiya[/name_f], or [name_f]Sadia[/name_f]… [name_m]Said[/name_m] just like [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], but with an “ah” sound to finish it up. It is Arabic and means [name_u]Lucky[/name_u]/[name_m]Fortunate[/name_m]. I think it is gorgeous! What do you all think?
My daughters name is Adelise, so… the pair would be Adelise and [name_f]Sadiya[/name_f] (Or [name_f]Sadia[/name_f], not sure which spelling I like best.)
My old cling to name is [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]. Which do you prefer? [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] or [name_f]Sadia[/name_f]?
I prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Sadia[/name_f] would often be mistaken for it which would be a hassle. I think [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and Adelise are a cute pair. Sending baby dust your way!
Ha I think it’s actually really pretty, but it’s my partner’s company name (spelled Sedia which is Italian for chair I think?), so it’s hard for me to shake that association. It does have a lovely sound though. I think I prefer the [name_f]Sadiya[/name_f] spelling as I’d instinctively pronounce [name_f]Sadia[/name_f] to rhyme with [name_f]Nadia[/name_f].
[name_f]Sadia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sadiya[/name_f] is intriguing, but I much prefer just [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], or [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], personally. For some reason, I’m fine with [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], but for some reason [name_f]Sadia[/name_f] reminds me of “sadistic”. Unfortunately. I know a lot of people see it with [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], but I really don’t, but I do with [name_f]Sadia[/name_f], for some reason.
Admittedly I took only one semester of Arabic and there are probably multiple ways of pronouncing this but my gut reaction is to say “Sah-[name_f]DEE[/name_f]-ya” and not “[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]-uh”. It is a very pretty name though, and I like the meaning.
I’m not a fan because I wouldn’t know how to pronounce it and it has SAD in it. What about combining the two to [name_f]Celia[/name_f]? I know a lovely [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. Or [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Sadiya[/name_f]/[name_f]Sadia[/name_f], but prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] in your sibset. I would use the [name_f]Sadiya[/name_f] spelling because it seems less made-up, but from that spelling I also assumed it was pronounced suh-[name_f]DEE[/name_f]-yuh. But I like [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] better because it has the same style as Adelise. Adelise and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] are very European to me, while [name_f]Sadiya[/name_f] is more Arabic. Good luck!
[name_f]Sadiya[/name_f] is a beautiful name! I agree that the [name_f]Sadia[/name_f] spelling is likely too confusing with [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]. But I like [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] much better with Adelise.
I like [name_f]Sadiya[/name_f] on its own, but I just really dig [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] with your other daughter for some reason. I think you should hang onto it. Not that sibsets are the be-all-end-all, but [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and Adelise do have a lovely ring together. Very elegant, whereas [name_f]Sadiya[/name_f] feels more exotic and (to my ears) just doesn’t pair quite as well.
