Loving the name [name_m]Orson[/name_m] for baby number 2. The only thing is last name starts with J.
O.J would be his initials. Middle name would most likely be [name_m]William[/name_m] so OWJ is not bad but often middles names are not used.
We live in [name_m]New[/name_m] Zealand so I don’t think the oj [name_m]Simpson[/name_m] issue would be that big a deal but orange juice? I think I am just overreacting but just want to check what you all think.
Second choice is [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
Any suggestions for names not starting with O B or V?
Unfortunately I love [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] but VJ is even worse. Luckily the only B names I like are for girls.
I don’t think it’s an issue. The OJ [name_m]Simpson[/name_m] fiasco was 20 years ago (yikes, I’m old!) and while I might think of orange juice if you wrote out OJ, I don’t think those are bad initials by any means, and certainly not tease-worthy. Plus, if he has a middle name, then he won’t be OJ, but rather O-middle initial-J.
[name_f]My[/name_f] version first thought was OJ [name_m]Simpson[/name_m] but I do live in the US.
I actually think OJ as in [name_u]Orange[/name_u] juice isn’t so bad… worst come to worst and he’ll just get nn’d Juice by his peers.
I don’t think either is a real problem. I’m in the U.S. so when i see OJ [name_m]Simpson[/name_m] wrote out I notice it. But just hearing [name_m]Orson[/name_m] J. I don’t associate it with him. Also orange juice is awesome so I the connection isn’t bad to me. Great names.
I live in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] and I think of O.J. [name_m]Simpson[/name_m] before orange juice. I might be underestimating something culturally about [name_m]New[/name_m] Zealanders and orange juice, but to me, orange juice isn’t a negative association anyway, so I wouldn’t let that stop me if I was in your position. Although for what it’s worth, I am absolutely charmed by [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] and would love to see you use that instead of [name_m]Orson[/name_m].
