Okay, Seven is out. Now for #7, what about Venture??

I wrote previously about our kids. We love word names. A name where it is easily spelled and pronounced. Words that have meaning or just sound good.
Here again are our other children:
[name]Taylor[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Willow[/name] [name]Payton[/name]
[name]Raven[/name] [name]Kennedy[/name]
[name]Ryker[/name] Woods
[name]Quest[/name] [name]Zaiden[/name]
[name]Favor[/name] [name]Bleu[/name]
So we have a list going and i don’t care for most of them, but they are on the list anyhow.
What about Venture? This one will be a BOY.
I like it, but my problem is our last name [name]Fletcher[/name], he would be Venture [name]Fletcher[/name]. That doesn’t sound real good with the rhyming, or does it???
I have 4 weeks to go. And our townpeople, grocery store, library, etc. all look forward to our names.
Also our names everyone remembers, which surprises me. But they all can name each child because of their unique names, they don’t forget them. I think having the word names makes it easier too.
But any suggestions would be great!! Word names preferred…

Thank you all so much in advance, it helps out huge!!

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Lisa[/name] – You have some really adventurous names there! Though I like Venture a bit less than your other word names, partly because it means something very similar to [name]Quest[/name], and partly because in this day and age all I can think of is Venture Capital. Would love to hear some of your other ideas!

I must concur with the previous poster - Venture does remind me of Venture Capital.

What about:

[name]Grey[/name] / [name]Gray[/name] / [name]Grayson[/name]

I went to grade school with a girl named [name]Ventura[/name], so I can totally see a boy named Venture. But I don’t love it with [name]Fletcher[/name].

Some names I think of when I read your list:

Venture [name]Fletcher[/name] does not sound ideal, although I like the idea of using Venture ^^
I listed all (ALL) of my word names in your other post, but these suggestions stand out of the ones mentioned in this thread ^^

Thunder got me thinking of [name]Tempest[/name], mostly used for girls for some reason… I like the sound, meaning and [name]Shakespeare[/name] reference… ^^ Valour ([name]Valor[/name] for the Americans  is another I thought of, mostly because it starts with a V like Venture…
I wish you the best of luck on deciding on a good name for your son! I’m sure you’ll find something good!

I thought of [name]Cabot[/name], [name]Stone[/name], [name]Sailor[/name], [name]Hawthorne[/name], [name]Concord[/name], [name]Walden[/name], and [name]Forest[/name]. My faves are [name]Hawthorne[/name] and [name]Cabot[/name].

Here are some nature/word names that I like. * are my favorites
Maybe give us an idea of what you like more/less so we can come up with more?

I love the suggestion of [name]Cosmo[/name]!

[name]How[/name] about Cetus (SEE-tus); the Latin name of a constellation which translates as … ‘sea monster’. The constellation is pronounced SEE-tus, but if you wanted to be true to its Latin roots, the pronunciation would be [name]KAY[/name]-tus.

Other constellations are:
Corvus ([name]COR[/name]-vus) - crow
Cygnus ([name]SIG[/name]-nus) - swan
Lupus (LOO-pus) - wolf (nn Wolfie is adorable, in my opinion)
[name]Orion[/name] (oh-[name]RYE[/name]-un) - hunter
[name]Perseus[/name] ([name]PER[/name]-see-us) - hero (also a character in Greek mythology, he killed Medusa and founded the city of Mycenae).

Good luck!

Zethan means shining

Names that have been mentioned that I think are great are-

[name]Lincoln[/name] - nn [name]Linc[/name]
[name]Grainger[/name] or [name]Granger[/name]

[name]How[/name] about - (I’ll try not to repeat but it will be hard)

[name]Everest[/name] - nn [name]Evie[/name] if a girl
Savoie (Savoie Alps - mountain range)
Rook ( a mountain range on the moon)
[name]Taurus[/name] (same as above)

I go though birth announcements for my blog http://names4real.wordpress.com/ and I have seen these words used as names.

You could name him Adventure.

Good luck!

Oh yeah I also thought of this what about one of the moons in our solar system?

I found this site that list all the moons. There are some really interesting names as well as names like [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Larissa[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name]…I like the name [name]Luna[/name] but it’s too open for teasing. Being named after a moon I think would be really cool.

I like the suggestion of [name]Desmond[/name]. A planet name would be cool too.

I agree venture reminds me of venture capitolist and is too similar to quest. What about [name]Truth[/name], thor, justice, chance???

I woke up this morning with this combo for a daughter that I just had to share

[name]Fleur[/name] [name]Christiane[/name]

I’ve never really thought about these types of names before, tending to have a more traditional style, but I like them and it was fun to think of a few I would use!
Here’s my list:

I’m going to try very hard not to repeat! I really like some of the suggestions above.

Not sure I would use all of these, but just thought I’d give it a brainstorm!
Wilde (I actually know a little girl with this name)

I’m looking forward to hearing what you pick!

I saw one on a road sign that I liked a lot:

Kindred (nn Kin or Dred)

I liked:
[name]Urban[/name] (Or [name]Urbana[/name] for a girl)
[name]Author[/name], [name]Story[/name]
[name]River[/name], [name]Chance[/name], [name]Archer[/name], [name]Sage[/name], [name]Satchel[/name], [name]Plenty[/name], Swift (For either)
[name]Garland[/name], [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Honor[/name], [name]Indigo[/name], [name]Fleur[/name] (girls)
[name]North[/name], [name]West[/name]

[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Dream[/name], [name]Juno[/name], [name]Autumn[/name], [name]Bliss[/name], [name]Delaney[/name] (girls)
Dare, [name]Maverick[/name], Island, Stream, [name]Forest[/name] (either)

Good luck with number seven! Thinking up those names was really fun!

Really love the name Venture and it definately goes with your sibset, HOWEVER, as previous posters have pointed out it is too much like [name]Quest[/name] and doesn’t really flow with [name]Fletcher[/name].

I also have a problem with Archeras well - even though its a great name you can’t name a child [name]Archer[/name] [name]Fletcher[/name]( one who shoots arrows, one who makes arrows!) You might as well name him [name]Archer[/name] [name]Arrow[/name] [name]Fletcher[/name] just to complete it!!

Some of the suggestions I love are

and how about

Good luck choosing
