[name]Do[/name] you have any names that you used to [name]LOVE[/name]? Any that you still like, but not as much anymore? Any that you’re now neutral on? Any that you completely hate now? Any that are way too popular for you to use in 2010? What were those names?
The big one for me would be [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I use to love this name so much but that was before I looked at popularity and stuff. (it’s so hard to type when your niece is giving kisses to the baby on the screen LOL)
That is probably it, [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I still love this name, but it is too popular to use.
When I was 15 (10 years ago) I was over the moon for [name]Kayleigh[/name].
Ick!
I used to think [name]Paisley[/name] was a great name.
And for some reason I thought Breitling would be cute for a little boy … I have no idea where that came from, I just liked it for a long time.
My requirement for “uncommon” is so restrictive that I won’t bother listing names where that’s the only problem - many of which I still love.
The ones I most think of as “old favorites”: [name]Valerie[/name], [name]Alexandra[/name], [name]Guinevere[/name].
Great topic [name]Cecily[/name]!
Names that are still on my list up to seven years later-
[name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]- started loving it before it entered the SSA list in 2006
[name]Rose[/name]- before the rose bloom (pun intended) it was on my list!
[name]Elizabeth[/name]- family name and, this is one of those “the” names
[name]Dominick[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]- would still use as a mn, even given the popularity, I’m secretly hoping it will become the number one soon, there by making me a name genius!
I use to love [name]Mary[/name], and don’t anymore.
I use to love [name]Landon[/name], but it’s too soft for a boy in my opinion.
I use to love [name]Robert[/name], my dad’s mn, but then I thought-Rubber, Robber-eek!
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Maisie[/name]/[name]Maizie[/name] have fallen out of my favor, but I’m still trying to resurect them!
<3[name]Bella[/name]
[name]MILO[/name], was always my favorite because of the book “the phantom tollbooth” but now too popular and my husbands not a big fan…maybe a mn.
For girls…[name]Makenna[/name], [name]Jocelyn[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name] used to like but just aren’t my taste now.
Also K names like [name]Kiera[/name], [name]Kiana[/name] and C names like [name]Cadence[/name] because they will not work with our last name.
[name]Emily[/name] was the first name I remember liking back when I was 5 or 6
Then for awhile I had a thing for the names [name]Boston[/name] & [name]Dakota[/name] for a girl. Then [name]Cadence[/name], [name]Sophia[/name] & [name]Camilla[/name] before they became to popular
When I was in high school (12 years ago) I loved the name [name]Jason[/name]! I always thought I would name my son [name]Jason[/name]. But by the time I had a son I luckily realized how dated it was. Also, I love the name [name]Trent[/name] for some reason.
I used to love [name]Sydney[/name] and [name]Ryan[/name] when I was little… not so much anymore.
[name]Ariel[/name]…i’d planned to name my daughter this since i was 6 until i realized everyone knew i was naming her after a mermaid…and im not the only 25 yr old who loved that movie when they were young…so not so original…
I’ve gone through a lot (tons!) of favorite names. They change almost daily. But when I was little I adored the name [name]Caitlin[/name]. I named like, fiveo of my babydolls [name]Caitlin[/name]. I just loved the name. Now it’s too common/popular for me to actually use, but I still think [name]Cate[/name] is the most adorable nickname. Also I was quite obsessed with the show [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls so I loved the name [name]Lorelai[/name] (or [name]Lorelei[/name]). The appeal of the name has worn over the years, but it’s still on my long list for one-day children. Also I used to love unisex names (gasp!) which I no longer am a fan of. [name]Brett[/name], [name]Dale[/name], [name]Logan[/name] and [name]Scout[/name] were some of my favorites for girls, but now I love frilly names like [name]Georgina[/name] and [name]Theodora[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name].
I used to love [name]Ryan[/name] for a boy and [name]Izabelle[/name] for a girl… I also liked tryndee names like [name]Ashleigh[/name] until I realized how wrong they were! I went through a vintage stage - [name]Dorothy[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Matilda[/name] etc, etc. Oh and I also loved [name]Winter[/name]. [name]Zahara[/name] was another one, but it’s so celebaby. [name]Lillia[/name] was nice but soon became too prissy and frilly for me… I prefer [name]Lila[/name]. I also used to aore [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name] but now they’ve sky rocketed. Oh! [name]Skye[/name] was another one I LOVED!
I still like some of those names now, but definitely not as much… I have liked [name]Violet[/name] since I first heard it…
Bounce
I forgot one, my husband actually remembers when we were maybe 14 or so, I commented that I liked the name [name]Anton[/name]. It is on our list now!
I also used to think [name]Cody[/name] and [name]Ryan[/name] would be cute for twins. Girl twins. [name]How[/name] embarrassing!
