Ohhhh, soooooo difficult. I adore both of these names!!
In the end I chose [name_f]Irene[/name_f], just because I think it’s a vintage name ripe for a comebackand slightly more unexpected than [name_f]Esther[/name_f]. However, [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is simiarly gorgeous. Both names also have beautiful meanings!

[name_f]Irene[/name_f] is okay, but [name_f]Esther[/name_f] sounds much sweeter and I love nn [name_f]Essie[/name_f]
I read a book where there were 2 sisters, [name_f]Esther[/name_f] ([name_f]Essie[/name_f]) and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] ([name_f]Edie[/name_f]) and I really liked it as a sibset

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] is gorgeous. It’s one of my favorite names.

I have tried to get my husband on board with both these names without much success. I prefer [name_f]Esther[/name_f], especially with the sweet nn option of [name_f]Essie[/name_f]. I would love to meet a little baby [name_f]Esther[/name_f]!

I can’t vote. I think they are completely different. [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is retro and [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is Biblical. I would decide what feeling you are going for.

[name_f]Irene[/name_f] is gorgeous, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. I’ve never liked the sound of [name_f]Esther[/name_f].
