great news! a dear friend recently had a baby boy, whom she’s called harvey. in slightly less great news, the combination harvey john is mine and my fiancé’s second favorite for a future boy. while we do plan to move, i’m not sure if we could use harvey. i’m just the sort of person that finds it hard to use a name once i know someone it belongs to.
this is where y’all come in. i was wondering if you’d humor me with your lovely suggestions of rare vintage names for boys. i don’t mind something a bit stuffy or dated. i’ve been playing around with herschel, horace, hiram, and henry, and orville, irving, jarvis, but i’d love a few more ideas. my fiancé is in love with names like hank and bill. our current list for a little boy includes george victor, (harvey john,) silas robert, and thatcher dean. i’m also trying to convince him on edward thomas ‘ward’ and albert henry ‘hal’, which are family names!
i appologize for the rant-like post, and am grateful for any suggestions you can toss my way.
phineas and matthias are fun too! i guess i love those clunky -s ending names. i’d never have thought of alwin, but it is pretty darn cute- a fun alternative to albert and winston!
