Soooo…I looked it up on an online dictionary to double check. There is also onomatopmania which is similar:
onomatomania /on·o·mato·ma·nia/ (on″ah-mat″ah-ma´ne-ah) irresistible preoccupation with specific words or names.
I thought this was rather cool so I would share it. (Although I am maybe getting a little too excited about a word that sounds pretty cool. ~And this just proves why I have onomatomania~)
Hahaha. I’ve got like four different mental/personality disorders, it wouldn’t surprise me if I got diagnosed with this one too! I probably have it, honestly. I just get so excited when I hear a name I like. Ya know?
Yeah. I go all happy and I [name]LOVE[/name] it if there is a name on a TV show or in a book that I like because it gets repeated loads. Same with words I like.
Now all of the Nameberries can rest easy! We have a name for our obsession! If anyone gives you grief that you’re spending too much time on this website, just tell them “I can’t help myself. I’ve got onomamania and there is no cure”. They’ll be very impressed - or concerned!
Haha I guess we definitely all have onomamania! As far as I’m concerned, the more, um, onomamaniacs in this world the better! More beautifully named people out there…
Now I can’t walk into a library and get a load of name books and if people look at me weirdly I can say " I’m sorry, I can’t help it. I have onamamania."
