Need help deciding between the following 3 combos. Part of the problem is we don’t really like the middle names BUT it is important to us to use one of them as we really want to honor family members.
Hubby definitely prefers [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]) for the first name but will let me have [name_f]Ella[/name_f] if I insist. I think I like both [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] equally but just feel that [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] becomes a bit clunky with the middles.
I’m 39 weeks already and this is keeping me awake at night so would love some opinions to help us lock something in! I’ve thought about trying to wait until she arrives in the hope seeing her would bring some clarity - has this worked for anyone else?
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f], definitely! I love it and especially spunky, adorable nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f].
I don’t know if you’d be open to slightly changing up the honour names in the middle? I like [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] but [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Nell[/name_f] would be perfection to me!
Push for [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. That might just be me though. Have you considered something like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Susanne[/name_f] (just an example I don’t know if you like [name_f]Willow[/name_f]). That way you can have a honor name and a name you like.
I like [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] the best. I think it’s very sweet - not too clunky imo. I like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as well, but I fear that it’s very overdone.
Wait a second. Both [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] are acceptable nicknames for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], to honor [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]. You can call her [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nn if you like. (I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is too insubstantial to be a first name on its own, anyways.)
I like [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] better because it’s less common, [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Susan[/name_f] or [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Nell[/name_f] work better to me. Could you use [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nell[/name_f] or [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] as an honor name? Maybe as a first-- [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Susan[/name_f] as a combo?
My favourite combo out of your suggestions is [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f], but I like [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] as well - especially the nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]. I don’t think [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] sounds clunky with [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] - although I think a pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Nell[/name_f] would sound better than [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Nellie[/name_f].
