I cannot decide which spelling to use. Last name would be B@ck0wski.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] B@ck0wski
[name_f]Ofelia[/name_f] B@ck0wski
I can’t decide which one I like better! I like the first one because it is elegant. I like the second because it pays homage to my Spanish heritage.
Unsure of what the middle name would be but am thinking of [name_f]Leelee[/name_f] as a nn.
Also, in the U.S. would you expect them to be pronounced the same? I tend to pronounce [name_f]Ofelia[/name_f] as “oh-fell-ee-ah” as opposed to “oh-[name_u]FEE[/name_u]-lee-ah” but I’m wondering if that’s correct, if there is no accent.
I love both! I’ve had both on my list, too ([name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] [name_f]Ofelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]). I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] would be easier–mainly because it’s more popular, but also because I think [name_f]Ofelia[/name_f]'s harder to figure out how to say. And, just as a personal preference, I like a simpler name (or at least spelling) with a longer, complex surname. I think [name_f]Ofelia[/name_f] B@ck0wski OR [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] B@ck0wski could work just fine, but [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is a bit easier to deal with. I like the frilly, feminissima feeling of [name_f]Ofelia[/name_f], though, and I like the more European feel of the pronunciation (I say oh-fay-lee-ah, but oh-fell-ee-ah is lovely, too). [name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is probably easier to deal with, right now I just love [name_f]Ofelia[/name_f], so I think she’s getting my vote. I think [name_f]Ofelia[/name_f] B@ck0wski is so elegant and beautiful!
Depends on your surroundings. Where I live the names have different pronunciations (oh-fee vs oh-fell) but I’d guess most of [name_u]America[/name_u] pronounces them the same way. I like both spellings but at least with [name_f]Ofelia[/name_f] you can get both pronunciations
