Oh, I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! It is vintage, sweet, and dainty. My favorite kind of name. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is more exotic. I personally don’t care for it at all.
I can’t quite choose. I guess [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], because she’s a slightly more interesting character and I love the ph- sound. But I love the sounds of both.
Coincidentally, I’ve played siblings of both the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] characters. So I guess that might subconsciously make me prefer [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]…
They are both lovely…If to take just names, I slightly prefer [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] because I don’t like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]'a “oph” sound very much and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is also similar to DD’s name. But [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] as a characters appeals better to me.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is vastly more beautiful than [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], to me - [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] has that harsh “cord” syllable. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is dainty and elegant, but also strong. It’s one of my favorite names.
I love them both. I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is prettier, but I’d also be afraid to use it in real life because of the potential for “feel-ya” jokes. . . .
I’d probably have [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], or vice versa. I like something conservative with them, for balance.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. The name is stunning, and the character in the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] play is so interesting and amazing. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]'s got a boring drawling sound, and the character is in my top ten most annoying people ever created, every time I see [name_m]King[/name_m] Lear I want to scratch my eyes out. Ugh.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Ondine[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Clemency[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Marion[/name_u], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]; who did you play? I’ve been [name_u]Regan[/name_u] in [name_m]King[/name_m] Lear and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] herself in [name_m]Hamlet[/name_m] ;).
I prefer [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. It’s spunkier. and it has nn option of [name_f]Delia[/name_f].
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. I like the sound, and the many nicknames that come with it. The only downside is the character from [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] the Vampire Slayer played by [name_f]Charisma[/name_f] Carpenter.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is very pretty, but I can’t help but think of [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]'s character.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] by far. The sound, the look, the imagery, the connection. Everything is perfect. If you don’t mind the tragic twist to her character, I think it’s a beautiful name <3
I prefer every single thing about [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. It is such a beautiful underused name with an amazing literary connection, and in my mind [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] just falls flat in comparison.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] by far, I’ve never liked [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Ofelia[/name_f].
I have a second cousin named [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and I’ve always found it clunky.
I am very partial to the nn [name_f]Cora[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] doesn’t have quite as stunning an obvious nn.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
i like the sound and look of it better, and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is too much
I love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. Absolutely adore it. Yes, it’s a bit tragic if you associate it with [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m], but it’s gritty too. Something about that makes me love it more.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is pretty, but it’s always been a bit precious too me.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Wren[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
This is tough, both names are pretty. However, [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] has always had a place in names that I love that my husband would never let me use, so I would definitely vote for [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f].
I would pair it with something classic.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]Chase[/name_u] on [name_f]Buffy[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]!
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] - the story, the nicknames…it just feels ultimately more grounded, stronger. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] feels very wispy to me.
