Ophira yes or no

I would love to use the name [name_f]Ophira[/name_f] for our daughter.

I would like to hear peoples thoughts on how user friendly it is really.

Worried family and friends might struggle to pronounce and spell.

Thank you!

Ophira is such a beautiful name!
I think that it would be easy enough. The pronounciation isn’t difficult, and it would be easy to straighten out the fact that it has the “ph” instead of “f”, especially since names like [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] are familiar.

yes!! i think it’s also very straightforward spelling and pronunciation wise? i mean, sure there might be the “with a ph” add-on when telling her name for somebody to write down, but that’s the same for sophia and raphael and co.

It’s so gorgeous!
I think the PH spelling is very easy and intuitive as far as pronunciation goes. I personally love the [name_f]Ofira[/name_f] spelling, but that spelling might be mispronounced more often. Overall the name has such a pretty sound and look, love it :sparkling_heart:

It’s so pretty! I definitely think it’s usable!

Im pretty bad at pronouncing names but I think I could handle [name_f]Ophira[/name_f] fine. People may be unfamiliar with it but I don’t think it will take long for them to get used to it since many popular names have the “ophi” sound in them. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f].

I have an ex named [name_u]Ophir[/name_u], so I know how to say the name quite easily. I think [name_f]Ophira[/name_f] is lovely (much nicer than [name_u]Ophir[/name_u], but I might be biased :stuck_out_tongue:)

I don’t remember him having any issues with [name_u]Ophir[/name_u], so I don’t think [name_f]Ophira[/name_f] would have any major issues!

Thank you! [name_m]Can[/name_m] I ask where in the world you are? [name_m]Just[/name_m] interested where the name [name_u]Ophir[/name_u] was being used. I am currently in the UK but the only place I have heard it is [name_u]Israel[/name_u]!

I’m in the UK, he was Israeli but they moved to the UK when he was little so he had spent the majority of his life here (though obviously he was named in [name_u]Israel[/name_u]!). They spoke Hebrew at home but he and his brothers all generally considered [name_f]English[/name_f] their first language.
