Opinion of girls name!

What do you think of the name [name]Avalyn[/name] ([name]AVA[/name]-[name]Lynn[/name])

It’s not good. Made up names are bad enough, but this one’s just the dated “[name]Lyn[/name]” stuck on the end of ultra-trendy [name]Ava[/name]. Unfortunately, the lyn won’t make her stand out from all the other Avas running around.

I have to agree with the first poster. [name]Avalyn[/name] is cute at first glance, but it wouldn’t age well because it is soooooo trendy. I have the perfect alternative though: try [name]Avalon[/name]. Still has [name]Ava[/name], so you could use it as a nickname, but it’s not trendy and is mystical and ages well to boot!

The only drawback with that though is that it’s pronounced ‘av’ like in ‘avenue’. There isn’t an [name]Ava[/name] sound

I like [name]Aveline[/name]…

My hubby thinks it sounds made up too! What do you think of [name]Adalee/name…to made up?

I love [name]Avalyn[/name]. I think it’s super pretty.

I think it’s awful - very contrived, made-up and doesn’t feel very classy.

What about [name]Elodie[/name]?

I honestly like it.
However, it’s clear that it’s “madeup” and that’s not the best, it’s also got that trendy, juvenile feel to it.

I wouldn’t picture a President [name]Avalyn[/name], Duchess [name]Avalyn[/name], Dr. [name]Avalyn[/name] Surname etc. I don’t think that the name would hold a girl back from attaining those, but I just don’t picture it when I hear the name.
It lacks in substance imo, but I still like it.

[name]Ava[/name], middle name [name]Lynn[/name] and you call her [name]Ava[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] is the better option imo.

[name]Adalee[/name] has the same feel, but is more like [name]Avalyn[/name]'s much younger sister.

[name]Adeline[/name], or [name]Elodie[/name] is a better replacement imo. Or even [name]Adalie[/name].

I don’t like [name]Avalyn[/name] it sounds made up… [name]Elodie[/name]… is a real name… But I don’t like it either

Not a fan. Although [name]Ava[/name] is cute in theory, it is so tired now. I know about a billion. [name]Just[/name] kidding, but I do know a lot. [name]Avalyn[/name] isn’t that far off and sounds made up.

If you really love the name, use it:) But I agree with the poster [name]Ava[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] would be a much better choice (I read [name]Avalyn[/name] as "ah-vah-lyn).

Mabye this is too obvious, but what about [name]Evelyn[/name]?

I prefer just [name]Ava[/name]. It is very popular but it does have some history behind it.

withinreason suggestion of [name]Evelyn[/name] is an excellent alternative.

I don’t think it’s that bad personally.

There are so many trendy names out there that are loads worse or just as bad at least [name]IMO[/name]: [name]Brynlee[/name], [name]Neveah[/name], [name]Hadley[/name], [name]Alivia[/name], [name]Kendall[/name], [name]Dayana[/name], [name]Ansley[/name], [name]Karlie[/name], McKenzee, etc on and on.

To me this is no worse than any of them and at least it has a pleasant sound.

I personally love the name [name]Evelyn[/name] and would use that in a heartbeat, but I wouldn’t cringe if I met an [name]Avalyn[/name].

Adding -lyn to a generic name does not make it unique. I much prefer underused real names with meaning.
