I know Schmidt is a last name but do you think usuing it as a first name is too weird or kind of cute and cool?
I can’t see it working too well. It sounds a lot like a curse word, which is a point against it. It might work as a middle name to honor family.
I like a lot of the surnames being used as first names but I don’t think Schmidt works. It’s difficult to explain it but it feels like a first name only in that if I heard someone being referred to as Schmidt I would wonder what his first name is. If it has a meaningful family connection to you, I think it would be fine in the middle spot.
I like the idea but in reality sounds too much like shit.
Better off in the middle. I’m not a fan of obvious surnames as first names, and Schmidt is way too harsh sounding.
I think it would work fine as a middle name, but may be a little too much for a first name.
I think it’s a bit harsh for a first name.
I’m going to go with too weird
It worked for Schmitty Werbenjaegarmen-[name_u]Jensen[/name_u], it can work for your baby.
I don’t like it, too close to a curse word. It reminds me of the show new girl, there is a character named Schmidt. It’s his last name but he goes by it exclusively. This association would fade in time but I think it would be strong now.
[name_m]John[/name_m]-[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]-Jingleheimer-Schmidt…
I’d say no.
