Opinion on the name Winter or Wynter?

[name_f]My[/name_f] baby girl is due in [name_u]November[/name_u], we love the sound of the name winter as well as the image we get when hearing it. Although we get a lot of negative reactions to it, what do you guys think?

Any other suggestions of [name_u]Unique[/name_u]/uncommon names? That are not too shocking?

Thanks!

I like [name_u]Winter[/name_u], and would spell it like that! I have some uncommon names on my list! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you tend to like word names?

[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u]
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Clarity[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_u]Hero[/name_u]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_u]Prairie[/name_u]

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] is lovely! [name_u]Wynter[/name_u] just looks misspelled.

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] is beautiful but it is associated with the season. I don’t know if it bothers you that your daughter will not be born in [name_u]Winter[/name_u]… I knew a baby named [name_f]Summer[/name_f] who was born in [name_u]Winter[/name_u] which I found a little odd, but I think it’s personal preference.
I agree with [name_u]Wynter[/name_u] looking misspelled.

Yes i love word names they are my favorite, thanks((:

The name winter is really lovely! I like it as is; I think that if you’re going to use a word name, you should use the conventional spelling. As another poster mentioned, keep in mind that a [name_u]November[/name_u] due date will give you an autumn (also a cute name) baby instead of a winter one. Although if you really like the name [name_u]Winter[/name_u], it’s not such a big deal; where I live, [name_u]November[/name_u] pretty much is winter

i really prefer the spelling of wynter to winter. i think the name is very cute. :~)
some of my favs that are unusual, but ones that sound winterish to me are:

haily
alaska
yuki
noel/noelle
evanna
holly
neve/neves
icelyn/iclyn
lumi
eira

I like word names if spelled like the word. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] calls to mind all sorts of beautiful images, but [name_u]Wynter[/name_u] isn’t really anything. I love that you could call her [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] if you wanted, too. If [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and [name_f]Summer[/name_f] can work, [name_u]Winter[/name_u] can too. ([name_f]Spring[/name_f] too, I suppose, but the -ing ending is a bit less name-y).

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] is a great name, I would spell it properly personally, my husband says the one thing that Bothers him most about word names is when they’re spelled differently. I would say both are probably fine and I think [name_u]Wynter[/name_u] looks pretty and gives it a [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] feel which is nice but I would stick with [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. I think in some cases people will not react positively with names , before a child is born is that magical moment when the parents are choosing a name and if they talk about it and let you… You might be able to weigh in! Friends and family will tell you to name her after Aunt [name_f]Milly[/name_f] and don’t forget to give her grandmas middle name, [name_f]Sally[/name_f] loves [name_f]Mary[/name_f] as a first name and [name_f]Dalia[/name_f] loves [name_f]Darla[/name_f]… You get anyone talking and they will… And if what you’re thinking isn’t what they are… They oddly say eeew why that why not the name I like. There is a reason there aren’t 40 [name_m]Trevor[/name_m]'s in every school and its because everyone has a different name style that’s all their own. I know when the next child of a certain gender comes into our family the nameberry have picked out will please half the family and dismay they other half… Then the next of that gender will likely be very acceptable as will the next… But we have chosen the name and you can’t make everyone happy  now after she’s born, same people holding her saying aw we love her name she’s so pretty and sweet… They now associate this name with this baby and all is well  I think [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is lovely for a winter baby. [name_f]Summer[/name_f] for a summer baby, autumn for a autumn baby and let’s say [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u] for a spring baby  I say if you love it go for it  now other suggestions… [name_u]Wynn[/name_u], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], Wilah… [name_f]Lilah[/name_f], [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Hattie[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Petra[/name_f], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], [name_f]Valorie[/name_f], [name_u]Zola[/name_u]… To make a few

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. It is lovely, and I have only ever known one. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite combos with it as a first name are
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Eden[/name_u]

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] is on one my favorite names. I strongly suggest spelling it the correct way. The fact that she is born in [name_u]November[/name_u] is of no consequence since it is near the end of the fall season you can just say “we have a new baby for winter…”

I know a baby [name_u]Winter[/name_u] however personally I am not a fan: sounds a bit like a new [name_u]Skye[/name_u] or something to me.

I like [name_u]Winter[/name_u], and I also actually like [name_u]November[/name_u], so that could work for you too. [name_f]Nova[/name_f] for nn.

I like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] but not [name_u]Wynter[/name_u]. Others word names:
