Opinions & Narrowing our list

We have a very long list of names we like, but nothing we’ve been able to fall in love with yet. Looking for honest opinions on our list. What would you kill? Any red flags?

Suggestions based on these MORE than welcome! I’m a little bit lost with girl names, so open to suggestions.

[name_f]Isla[/name_f]- huge crush on this name, but afraid it will be mispronounced as “iss-la”
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]- husband finds a bit masculine
Loelle- family name, nn: Lo or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]- loved this name before it’s surge in popularity (after Angels in [name_u]America[/name_u])
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]- our current favorite but we know 3 Olivias under 5

Current long list:
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]
[name_u]Linden[/name_u]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]

From your list, I love [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and [name_u]Arden[/name_u] best.

[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] are lovely, but a little too popular to really seem special.

If you love [name_u]Harper[/name_u], it would make an awesome middle. It seems a little too trendy/popular to me.

A few suggestions inspired from your list, but a little less commonly used:
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Ember[/name_u]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_u]Vesper[/name_u]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_f]Evie[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_u]Sutton[/name_u]

Good luck finding that perfect name!

Out of your list, [name_u]Arden[/name_u], [name_f]Molly[/name_f] (a bit biased here, but it is fairly uncommon), [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], and [name_f]Every[/name_f]. [name_u]Arden[/name_u] I think is one of the cutest names I’ve ever seen, and I’m falling in love with it as I continue to type. However, some names I suggest that are similar to it are [name_u]Holland[/name_u], [name_u]Remi[/name_u], Raelin, and [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]. [name_f]Molly[/name_f], while once widely popular, is slowly falling back into the shadows, but is still beautiful. The good thing about [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is it will be quite unique! Names like [name_f]Molly[/name_f] would be [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Victory[/name_f]/[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] is very cute, although I prefer [name_u]Emery[/name_u]. Names like [name_u]Emery[/name_u] are Eastyn, [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], [name_u]Sky[/name_u], [name_f]Kinley[/name_f], and [name_u]Tate[/name_u]. [name_f]Every[/name_f] is super cute, although I prefer [name_u]Avery[/name_u]. Names like [name_u]Avery[/name_u] would be [name_u]Addison[/name_u], [name_u]Parker[/name_u], or [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]. My favorite is still [name_u]Arden[/name_u], and I personally think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] (or vice versa) is super cute! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] I could have helped!!

My favorites from your list are [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], and [name_f]Lyla[/name_f]. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] may be popular/trendy, but if you think either one of these are the name, don’t hold back. [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] is a gorgeous name that I don’t think is too popular right now (at least not as popular as the other two). Hopefully, you’ll find some inspiration to come up with a combo you love that is the best of both worlds.

I’m ashamed to say that I completely thought [name_f]Isla[/name_f] was pronounced EES-la from the second I saw it. It never appealed to me, so I never bothered with checking the pronunciation. Now knowing, I would just say that I prefer [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] over “Eye-la”

Personally, I’m not in to [name_u]Arden[/name_u], [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], or [name_u]Linden[/name_u] as they sound too masculine to me (agree with your hubby, especially [name_u]Arden[/name_u]). [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f] are just alright to me. They seem insubstantial (and a bit boring). Also, while [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is pretty, it just gives off kind of an old lady vibe, in my eyes. Loelle is very interesting, definitely not displeasing to my ear. A great family name! Reminds me of [name_f]Joelle[/name_f].

Here are some suggestions:

[name_f]Alessa[/name_f]/[name_f]Alessia[/name_f]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Braelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Brenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f]
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]/[name_f]Coralina[/name_f]
[name_f]Demi[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Emerie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmalyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Evalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Irisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Larissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Novalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_f]Reina[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_u]Sierra[/name_u]
[name_u]Skylar[/name_u]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_u]Arden[/name_u], [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and Loelle. I think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] could be used as a middle if your husband is unconvinced (I do know a little boy who just turned one named [name_u]Arden[/name_u]). As for pronouncing [name_f]Isla[/name_f], I think it’s the kind of name some people might mispronounce at first and you will correct them and hopefully that will be that. (I am assuming Loelle is pronounced like [name_u]Noel[/name_u] and not [name_m]Lowell[/name_m]? You might have to correct people on that too).

I think [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] are kind of trendy/popular. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] are hugely popular. The others just aren’t really my style.

[name_f]Isla[/name_f]: I think it’s well-known enough now that most people will get the pronunciation right.
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]: I don’t think it sounds masculine. It ranked at #912 for girls last year, and wasn’t in the top 1000 at all for boys. It’s a lovely name!
Loelle: I haven’t heard of this name before, but I like the sound of it. It would fit right in since it’s similar to [name_f]Noelle[/name_f].

From your long list, I like [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], and [name_u]Linden[/name_u]. Also, personally, I’d prefer [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] spelled as [name_f]Lila[/name_f].

I think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] Loelle would be a lovely combo

Thanks! Great advice. I’ve never heard [name_u]Parker[/name_u] for a girl, but might have to give it a thought.

Thanks. This is great feedback and suggestions.

[name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] have all been on my long list.

I love:

[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]

Any other thoughts? Thanks everyone so far!
