[name_f]Odette[/name_f] or [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]?
[name_u]Love[/name_u] both. [name_f]Odette[/name_f] is sweet and has [name_m]French[/name_m] flair. I can’t think of many nn options, but then again it doesn’t really need one. [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] rolls off the tongue a little easier than [name_f]Odette[/name_f] and I love the nn Gywn/[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. Overall, both are great choices!
I pick [name_f]Odette[/name_f]!
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]!! It is pretty and has a pretty nickname, Gywn!
It really depends on the middle and last names! [name_m]Both[/name_m] are great. While I love [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] because of the cute nickname, I also love [name_f]Odette[/name_f]. It is different but doable.
These are both names I want to love but just like. With [name_f]Odette[/name_f] I hear Oh Debt which isn’t the greatest thing. With [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] I’m not sure why I don’t love it, maybe [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] Paltrow? [name_f]My[/name_f] personal feelings aside, they both are lovely feminine names, you can’t make a wrong choice between these two. [name_f]Odette[/name_f] has a slight edge for me because I really like the O sound and the ette ending.
[name_m]Both[/name_m] lovely. [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] definitely brings to mind Paltrow, but that’s no reason to shy away from it. Much lovelier than [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_f]Odette[/name_f] is more uncommon, so that gets points. You could get to [name_m]Odie[/name_m] or [name_f]Etta[/name_f] from it. [name_m]Both[/name_m] names bring to mind a sophisticated little girl with a mischievous streak.
I prefer [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]. [name_f]Odette[/name_f] is one of my least favorite
- ette names. It also sounds identical to a common last name where I live so it sounds very surnamy to me.
I prefer [name_f]Yvette[/name_f], [name_f]Claudette[/name_f] or [name_f]Pierette[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Odette[/name_f], but never liked [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] much. [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] is lovely, though.
I love [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]!! And you can use the nickname [name_u]Gwyn[/name_u] or [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]
Neither are my style, honestly, but the nickname [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is lovely. So I suppose [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] would be my pick, even if I don’t find it nice to look at. I mean that visually the “Gwy” is just such a weird arrangement of letters. Though I guess [name_f]Gweneth[/name_f] isn’t a name? Not sure. Anyhow, I do like it better than [name_f]Odette[/name_f]. I’m [name_m]French[/name_m] and understand the appeal of the name, but I much prefer [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], [name_f]Annette[/name_f], [name_f]Jeannette[/name_f], etc.
I love [name_f]Odette[/name_f]! Such a lovely choice.
I think both are rather pretty, but I prefer [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] It’s a bit more user friendly and well known. Plus, I think it just sounds better out loud (though I will admit [name_f]Odette[/name_f] is more aesthetically pleasing)
Can’t go wrong with either though.
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] is lovely. I don care for [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] though.
I like both really, it’s hard to choose between them. I do think that [name_f]Odette[/name_f] is more unique and edgy because it starts with O but [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] is a great name too and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is a very nice nickname. I can’t choose. [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f] sounds good
I’ve never been a fan of [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]. Its sound makes me think of having peanut butter on the roof of your mouth. I like [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] though. It has the same soft, romantic sound as [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] at the beginning, but some punch at the end (I like strong consonants). I imagine [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] as a damsel in distress and [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] as a heroine.
I like [name_f]Odette[/name_f]. It feels vintage and spunky, streamlined yet feminine. I think it’s a bold choice among the popular names of today. [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] is a similar name that may have wider appeal (if that concerns you), plus the obvious nn option [name_u]Dessie[/name_u].
Definitely [name_f]Odette[/name_f].
I’m a tad biased, though–I kind of have a personal vendetta against [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] because people constantly call me that as a sort of reverse nickname (my name is [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]) and I have to go “uh, no. It’s actually short for [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]. And please just call me [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]” until my patience is exhausted and I want to expunge [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] from the earth. If [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is what you’re after, just use [name_f]Gwen[/name_f].
Also, I really like [name_f]Odette[/name_f]! I recently found out I had a great-great-great aunt [name_f]Odette[/name_f] so I’m extra jazzed about it lately.
I Like [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]. Although The other sounds unique, I am afraid of what nn they will give her. She may always feel “odd” as well!
I love the nn [name_u]Gwyn[/name_u] so I choose [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], though [name_f]Odette[/name_f] is a lovely pick also.
