Wouldnt normally do this just for opinions but the comments section on the name page is just swamped with people arguing about how to pronounce it ( I go for [name_u]Adel[/name_u]- [name_f]LINE[/name_f] but w/e). So what do people actually think about [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]? What kind of image does it give off to people? It strikes me as a balance between sweetly southern, chic-french couture and royalty xx
I like it - it’s both modern yet has a kind of vintage feel. I also like that it has a whole array of nickname choices. My only issue is that it’s becoming increasingly popular, but overall i think it’s lovely.
I like the name because it feels girly, elegant, and pretty without being too long or fluffy.
I love this name vintage and chic but feels like it could fit right into the modern world. A truly lovely name!
I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], it has got a nice feel and has a beautiful sound to it
It’s way better than the trendy [name_u]Addison[/name_u] which I cannot stand for girls because is way too masculine for me because of the last three letters and the “[name_m]Son[/name_m] Of [name_m]Adam[/name_m]” meaning.
I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] - I’m English and pronounce it ‘[name_m]Ad[/name_m] - a - line’. To me, [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is a very classy/elegant, vintage American name.
I like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], but these days prefer [name_f]Adele[/name_f], and then [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. Mainly because I love the [name_m]French[/name_m]/[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Eyre[/name_f]/Three Musketeers/dreamer/cute-as-a-button sort of feel I get from [name_f]Adele[/name_f], and my beloved nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]! I do like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] nn [name_f]Della[/name_f] a lot, though, and I love that it reminds me of The Age of [name_f]Adaline[/name_f], which was such a cute movie, imo.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] seems sweet and vintage and kind and wise, and I sort of envision her loving [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u], playing the piano, writing stories in her notebook in her favorite naturey nook in her backyard. I’d love to have a little [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] in my life!
Good luck!
It’s a pretty name
I prefer [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
I love it! [name_u]Ever[/name_u] since watching the movie [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] I have been obsessed with the nickname [name_f]Della[/name_f] :).
I pronounce it “ada-lyn”. I find it a very sweet, elegant, and feminine. Very lovely name.
I really like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. I pronounce it with the “leen” sound, probably because it seems very [name_m]French[/name_m] to me and I’ve never met an English [name_f]Adeline[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is a beautiful name. It’s very melodic. I like the nickname “[name_f]Addie[/name_f].”
I love it!
