[name]Hi[/name],
I like [name]Antoinette[/name] as a middle name, especially as a person who respects [name]Marie[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name], who of course everyone is reminded of. I think it’s pretty and I love the nn [name]Toinette[/name].
What do you think?
Thanks,
[name]Ellie[/name] xx
It’s a little too frilly for me, or maybe not frilly but somehow too elongated. Could be nice in the right combo though, especially as a middle name. With some of the first names you have listed, it could be lovely:
[name]Sybil[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name]
[name]Fallon[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name]
[name]Willa[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name]
The first thing that comes to mind with the name [name]Antoinette[/name] is as you said, [name]Marie[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name]. I think it would fit well in the right combo as a middle name.
There’s a girl in my eldest class with this and I was really surprised to see it at first. I think it would make an interesting mn choice!
I kind of like [name]Antoinette[/name]…especially as a middle name. It does make me think of [name]Marie[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name], which isn’t the happiest of associations because of her pretty tragic end, but I like [name]Anne[/name] because of [name]Anne[/name] Boleyn so clearly that’s not a huge deal to me, haha.
Not a fan of [name]Toinette[/name] at all, though, I first read it as Toilette…too much teasing potential. [name]Nettie[/name], [name]Etta[/name], [name]Annie[/name], etc. would be cute nn, though.
I love the name but yeah, the association to [name]Marie[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name] is very strong.
If you’re really passionate about it, then go for it. It’s beautiful and even though there is that association, people will eventually get over it
I really like [name]Antoinette[/name]! It’s actually my friend’s middle name.
It’s my middle name and the [name]Marie[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name] association has never been an issue. I’m not terribly fond of it but I think that’s mostly because my parents never used it and since it’s a bit over the top formal I don’t feel comfortable with it.
I think it would work as a middle name to balance out a stronger or one syllable first name. Another name to consider if you don’t want the association to [name]Marie[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name] is [name]Antonia[/name].
It’s OK but I much prefer [name]Antonia[/name]. The “twa” syllable somehow sort of bothers me.
