I like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] a lot. It makes me think [name_u]Golden[/name_u] Age Hollywood, due to the great [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn – vintage class. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] has a great versatility…feeling sophisticated, but at the same time also having a playful and cheeky type thing going on. For this reason, I think it could fit a girl/woman of any age, and it is certainly easily spelled and pronounced.

Oh yes, I love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]-particularly because I don’t know anyone with this name, it seems sweet and untainted to me.
I see a blonde, olive skinned child who is bright and enthusiastic.
It will age fantastically [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

Our top name is [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] since hubby doesn’t think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] goes well as a first name with our other options, but I really like:
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f]

Very easy to spell/pronounce, but it doesn’t strike me as an international name.

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is such a classic, sophisticated name. It can stand the test of time. I can picture it on ANY age and ANY personality, which is very very hard to do with almost any other name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!

Absolutely adore the name [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]! She’s a classy, dignified, yet playful name all at the same time. It really is a timeless classic that can work on anybody! And it is one of those names that if someone can’t spell it and are from an English speaking country, then they’re illiterate. Though I can’t speak for foreign countries.

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is gorgeous - classy, elegant - it brings [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn to mind for me (who I love!). It’s very well known, and popular in the United States, so spelling and pronunciation shouldn’t be an issue whatsoever here, however I see you live in [name_u]Sweden[/name_u], so I’m not sure if that would be the same - English speakers however would not likely have a problem.

It’s definitely internationally known - I happen to know a few, one is American ([name_f]Audrie[/name_f]), one is Irish, and one is [name_m]French[/name_m] - none seem to have an issue with their name. ’

It’s not as though you’ve chosen one of the ''modern inventions", such as [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] or [name_u]McKinley[/name_u].

The quintessential elegant name. A beautiful choice that fits any age.

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is one of my very favourite names, and I’d use it in a heartbeat if someone in the family hadn’t gotten to it first! It’s classic without being boring, feminine without being overly frilly, and I think it would fit any sort of girl - smart, athletic, sassy, shy…

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] would also sound fantastic with your boys.

I agree with the others who have said that [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] feels simultaneously elegant and playful. Someone with a lot of class and manners, but that doesn’t mean that she’s stodgy or dull at all. I’ve wondered before if my impression of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] would be entirely different if it weren’t for [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn - that it would feel more like the ‘feminine androgynous’ names like [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] and [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. I think so, but that doesn’t much matter because I think Hepburn has colored the name (beautifully) for a lot of people.

It also fits beautifully with the simple, unfussy names that seem to be popular in [name_u]Sweden[/name_u] these days.

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is such a great name. I love it!

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is a very classy name, thanks to the wonderful [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn. I love the name, but I’m a little bothered by how many other parents decide to spell it [name_f]Audrie[/name_f] or [name_f]Audry[/name_f] or Audri, which I guess is almost inevitable when a name reaches a certain point of popularity. Not to mention, there are also quite a few [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]'s out there. However, aside from all that, it’s definitely a name I would consider using myself someday. It’s definitely easy to say, and I do think it will age well. I think it sounds wonderful with [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].

I always love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. I imagine a dark haired beauty with pale skin. She’s very classy, smart, a bit nerdy but very fun. She likes to play sport and music.
Could it fit a spunky, active little girl? Definitely.

Other thoughts? I say go for it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Could it fit a spunky, active little girl? Absolutely.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it will age well? Indeed. I can picture an [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] at any age, and actually know Audreys of every age.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you find it easy to say and spell? Yes.
Does it have international appeal/ recognition? No idea. Europe would embrace it. In [name_f]Asia[/name_f] the R might be a bit hard to say.
Other thoughts? It’s one of those names that has paled for me only because it’s used so much. However, the iconic [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] keeps me a huge fan.

I think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is one of those names that fits all the criteria of a “perfect” name. It’s easy to say and spell (unless you spell it differently than normal) It’s classic, it could fit all kinds of personality, and it ages very well. It’s beautiful.

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is so classy to me, it brings to mind [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn in Breakfast At [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f]'s immediately.

While it Is classy I can definitely see it on a spunky/sassy little girl, it certainly isn’t dowdy. I think it will age extremely well, I find it almost timeless.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts!

Wow! Based on these responses, everyone has positive impressions of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] (which is great) but I am wondering if anyone has negative opinions on it. I would love to hear some respectful dissent (if anyone has anything to share). Before I plunge in and commit to this name for my daughter I want to hear the good the bad and the ugly (in a respectful manner) so I can make a well informed decision!

Again, thanks to everyone who has replied. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is probably my husband’s top choice but it was not something I had every considered before so I am in the process of warming up to it. I have 11 weeks to go…

I love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]! I think it’s really classic and beautiful, and I wish I could find a spot for her on my list.

I met a little girl named [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] through my church several years ago; she had a sister named [name_f]Nadia[/name_f], and I adored them both! She was spunky and inquisitive and affectionate and cute as a button. Her sister [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] was much of the same, with a huge heart, and they both had the ability to wrap your heart around their little pinky fingers. I didn’t know them for very long, but I wish I still knew them; they were utterly precious. So I have a very good association with it, but I know little old ladies named [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] who wear it seamlessly. I think, as far as names go, [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is excellent. And [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] are great together! [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]'s so feminine, but in an understated way, and I think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]'d be perfect with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m]!

Good luck!

I really like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. I only know one, she’s my mother’s age though. There’s also an [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] in [name_m]Little[/name_m] Shop of Horrors.

Such an elegant name. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn.
