[name]Hi[/name]! I’ve been on here a few times asking opinions about incorporating family names. I think my DH and I decided to give our son his own first name. We will probably use [name]Peter[/name] as the middle, but that’s not set in stone. Opinions welcomed. My dd’s name is [name]Julia[/name] [name]Rowan[/name].
[name]Liam[/name] [name]ADORE[/name] this name, popular but awesome
[name]Henry[/name] [name]ADORE[/name] this name
[name]Nolan[/name] Nice name
[name]Ryan[/name] [name]ADORE[/name] this name
[name]Collin[/name] NMS
[name]Quinn[/name] I have only ever known a girl [name]Quinn[/name]- so for a boy only as a MN.
[name]Ethan[/name] Like this name, popular though
[name]Gavin[/name] Alright- maybe not with a G LN.
Based on your style, have you considered [name]Evan[/name]? -bit like [name]Ethan[/name]/[name]Gavin[/name] mixed together.
[name]Liam[/name]-I actually prefer this to [name]William[/name], lovely name you cannot go wrong with it
[name]Henry[/name]-Again another great classic name
[name]Nolan[/name]-Nice name
[name]Ryan[/name]-Nice name
[name]Collin[/name]-I prefer the spelling [name]Colin[/name], but either way it is a nice name. Have you considered [name]Cole[/name]? I think it would work nicely with [name]Julia[/name].
[name]Quinn[/name]-[name]Love[/name] this name, though depending on where you live there may be more girls wearing it
[name]Ethan[/name]-Nice classic and stable name, rather popular though
[name]Gavin[/name]-Okay, but it might not work with your last name (depending on how it sounds though)
Thanks! Yes, we did consider [name]Evan[/name], but for some reason it didn’t click with my husband. I did think about [name]Cole[/name], but didnt mention it with my husband since its the name of a boy in my daughters class. Guess i could see what my husband thinks though. I appreciate the opinions. In your opinion, how likely is it for a [name]Henry[/name] to end up as a [name]Hank[/name]? That’s one of my fears with this name. I absolutely adore [name]Henry[/name], but the nickname is nms.
My vote would be for [name]Henry[/name]. It’s in the midle spot of my top combo but I could definitely be persuaded to use it as a first name, I think it’s lovely and classic, it ages well and suits a boy of any age and demeanor. I also like [name]Quinn[/name], but more so as a middle name, and [name]Gavin[/name] - though I may be biased because I have a cousin named [name]Gavin[/name]. I think [name]Henry[/name] [name]Peter[/name] or [name]Gavin[/name] [name]Peter[/name] would be lovely
I think in this day and age it would be very very unlikely for a [name]Henry[/name] to end up as [name]Hank[/name]. I only know of one [name]Henry[/name] and I don’t think the nickname has ever cropped up. I think the nickname [name]Harry[/name] would be more likely than [name]Hank[/name] but since [name]Harry[/name] is popular in it’s own right even that would be rare no need to worry.
[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Julia[/name] [name]Rowan[/name] btw!
[name]Liam[/name] - Although it is very popular, I really like [name]Liam[/name]. A good solid name.
[name]Henry[/name] - I think [name]Henry[/name] is my favorite on your list. I don’t like the nickname [name]Hank[/name] either and in all honesty I didn’t know [name]Hank[/name] was a traditional nickname for [name]Henry[/name]. [name]Just[/name] don’t use [name]Hank[/name] and correct people if they try to use it.
[name]Nolan[/name] - When I as about 14 I met two brothers, one was named [name]Liam[/name] and the other [name]Nolan[/name]. Those names were both very uncommon back then, especially where I live, and I thought they were the most handsome names! I still love [name]Liam[/name], but now I prefer [name]Nolan[/name] because it less common.
[name]Ryan[/name] - [name]One[/name] of my favorite common/popular names. I would never use it though because it is too popular for my taste. [name]Julia[/name] is less common and doesn’t really match [name]Ryan[/name]'s popularity.
[name]Collin[/name] - I prefer several other names on your list.
[name]Quinn[/name] - Same as [name]Collin[/name].
[name]Ethan[/name] - [name]Ethan[/name] and [name]Julia[/name] sound great together. I still prefer [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Nolan[/name].
[name]Gavin[/name] - Not my cup of tea.
[name]Julia[/name] and…
[name]Liam[/name]- Cute- repeat L sound between the two siblings
[name]Henry[/name]- very cute together! It’s probably just a bit more popular than [name]Julia[/name]
[name]Nolan[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name]. These two are so cute together!
[name]Ryan[/name]- I really like [name]Ryan[/name], but it was so popular when I was a kid in the 90s that it doesn’t feel as special as some of these others
[name]Collin[/name]- Again, subtle repeating L. Sounds nice with [name]Julia[/name].
[name]Quinn[/name]-- Nice, it bothers me a little that this name is going to more girls lately… I really like how it sounds
[name]Ethan[/name]-- See [name]Ryan[/name] above
[name]Gavin[/name]-- goes really nicely with [name]Julia[/name]. [name]Just[/name] a bit unusual, but all boy.
