Opinions on Brighton

I recently fell in love with the girls name [name_u]Brighton[/name_u]. But I would like to know everyone’s opinions on it !!

It’s not my style personally but I do like it, I think it is a sunny, rosy name and reminds me of others that I like such as [name_f]Afton[/name_f]. The imagery it gives me is like walking through an English city with old stone buildings and climbing roses. [name_u]Bright[/name_u] and happy!

It’s also not my style, it’s a bit trendy for me, but it is cute.

I like [name_u]Brighton[/name_u]. I’ve never met anyone with the name. It’s one of the few names I like on both boys and girls. Could use [name_f]Bri[/name_f] as a nickname

I actually know a little girl named [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] who’s about three years old and she’s super cute. She has a sister named [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and I think that sibset is adorable. I personally would never use the name, but I love seeing it on other people.

Feels a bit too trendy for me. Plus I just think of the place, so it’s hard to imagine on a real person

It’s pretty cute!

I just think of the [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] in the UK which is famous for [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] Pride so it’s all rainbows and sunshine, although I wouldn’t ever use it because, well, I think of the seaside resort.

She better be smart or all she’ll hear is how [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] isn’t all that bright. I would steer clear.

I have only heard [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] an a boy, but.love it on a girl. But with a girly middle;
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] [name_u]Clair[/name_u]
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]

I know a little girl named [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] and she goes by Brightie. It’s such a cute nickname and makes it really work for her! I didn’t like the name before but I’ve really come to love it since meeting her.

I think its adorable.

When I read [name_u]Brighton[/name_u], I automatically thought masculine. I can see it more on a boy than on a girl, actually. Possibly more middle than first also.

If I’d hear it on a girl I’d think it’s an original, interesting choice… but it’s not my style.

I find it a bit weird as I live in the UK and just think of the place. In the US though, I think you could use it- it has a similar sound and feel to names like [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] and [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] that sound a bit more masculine but are also used on girls, and I think most people in the US wouldn’t have heard of the city anyways.

I think in [name_m]Britain[/name_m] it’s not very wearable - you would get constant comments about the place. In [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_u]America[/name_u] it would probably be more accepted though.
