Opinions on Current Top List!!

I would love some thoughts on my most recent list of possibilities for my girl!

I’ve organized the names into three tiers to reflect the combination of enthusiasm that DH and I have for them. i.e. I like [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f], but DH is only lukewarm, so it’s 2nd Tier. [name_m]Both[/name_m] DH and I like [name_f]Faith[/name_f], but it’s too popular to be used as a 1st name, so it’s 3rd Tier, etc…

Top Tier Possibilities -
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] nn Veri.
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Gwen[/name_f].
Talia nn Tally

2nd Tier Possibilities -
[name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] nn Beks/Bekah
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] nn [name_u]Georgie[/name_u]

3rd Tier Possibilities -
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]

Siblings are [name_f]Ann1ka[/name_f] ([name_f]Ann1e[/name_f]), [name_m]M@xwell[/name_m] ([name_u]M@x[/name_u]), and [name_m]Th3odore[/name_m] ([name_u]Th3o[/name_u]).
Our last name is pronounced similar to ‘[name_m]K@le[/name_m]’ and is [name_m]German[/name_m] in origin.

Thank you so much for your input and insight!

Nice picks… I like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] particularly. For a mn, I actually like the ‘third tier’ choices.

I would never personally consider it because it’s not really my style, but I love [name_f]Verity[/name_f]!

I like [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] too, but I’d be afraid of the popularity factor of [name_f]El[/name_f]- names right now. It does sound lovely with the sibling names though!

More thoughts?

I also very much like [name_f]Verity[/name_f]. Very unique and strong.

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] is a great name. I also love [name_f]Talia[/name_f] but FWIW she’d share an initial with her brother. I’m not crazy about [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] - it’s OK and works well enough in the set, but I think [name_f]Verity[/name_f] and [name_f]Talia[/name_f] both work better and [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] is very tied to Ms. Paltrow for me. [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] is kind of rhymey with her sister’s name. [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] is very pretty and works well.

I like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] a lot as a combo.

I would eliminate [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] and [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] as they are too similar to [name_f]Annika[/name_f]. [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] shares a pronounced “el” with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_f]Talia[/name_f] K@le isn’t ideal. [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is bland next to other children’s and [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] is strongly associated with an irritating American actress so… the last name standing is [name_f]Verity[/name_f]. [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is spunky with a great meaning!

Top Tier Possibilities -
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] nn Veri. - I’ve never been a fan of this name, I just find it a bit pretentious - I say Veri as Very and it feels too wordy to be a name to me too.
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. - Never been keen on [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] names either, I just don’t like the Gw- sound much.
[name_f]Talia[/name_f] nn [name_u]Tally[/name_u] - I think this works well if you’re ok with Th3o and [name_f]Talia[/name_f] sharing initials. Not fussed on nn [name_u]Tally[/name_u], prefer nn [name_f]Lia[/name_f].

2nd Tier Possibilities -
[name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] nn Beks/Bekah - Like this but could see spelling difficulties as [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] is the much more common variant.
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] nn [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] - [name_m]How[/name_m] are you pronouncing this? Like [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] but find [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] a bit fussy, prefer [name_f]Georgina[/name_f].

3rd Tier Possibilities -
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] - I like this, it’s got that [name_m]German[/name_m] feel to it and I wouldn’t worry about it being close to [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] if he goes mostly by his nickname.
[name_f]Faith[/name_f] - Next to a one syllable surname it strikes me as a bit abrupt, would work in the middle (although not with [name_f]Verity[/name_f], too much virtue name there)

I like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] and [name_f]Talia[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is too strong and powerful a name to be nned into Veri.

[QUOTE]I would eliminate Georgiana and Rebekah as they are too similar to Annika./QUOTE]
Ditto this.
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]: doesn’t fit stylistically with the names I like, so I probably wouldn’t personally use it, but it still happens to be a name I like very much, and I think it would go wonderfully with your other children’s names.
[name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f]: again, not a personal favorite, but a very pretty name. [name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f] is definitely my favorite with your other kids’ names.
[name_f]Talia[/name_f]: I like this name but prefer the [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] spelling
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]: like it for a middle
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]: again, like it for a middle

So I would say [name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] or [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Elsa[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f] gets an edge up on [name_f]Verity[/name_f] though. Ann1ka, M@xwell, Th3odore, and [name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f]. Ann1e, M@x, Th3o, and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. Sounds wonderful to me!

I just love [name_f]Verity[/name_f] (but I am biased as I consider it the “twin” to my own name)
Also love the [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] names including [name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f]!

Top Tier:
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] nn Veri- [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f], but I don’t like Veri that much.
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]- This is my favorite from the Top Tier. [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] is very versitle.
[name_f]Talia[/name_f] nn [name_u]Tally[/name_u]- I don’t care for this a great deal. The sound is pretty, but it isn’t as striking as [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] or [name_f]Verity[/name_f].

2nd Tier:
[name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] nn Beks/Bekah- Dislike this spelling. And I know the most obnoxious Rebbeca, so the name is ruined for me.
Georigana nn [name_u]Georgie[/name_u]- [name_f]Love[/name_f] this name. An absolute favorite of mine. [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] is adorable.

3rd Tier:
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]- This is alright, but it feels very popular with the other [name_f]Elle[/name_f]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] names
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]- Something about this name doesn’t do it for me. I prefer [name_f]Verity[/name_f] in terms of virtue names.

My top names off of your list are: [name_f]Verity[/name_f], [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], and Georigana.

Oh, thank you, all!
You so help me clarify my own feelings on the names!
Plus, you bring up some issues/concerns I hadn’t considered!

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it would be reasonable to spell [name_f]Talia[/name_f] as [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], but still pronounce her ‘[name_m]Tahl[/name_m]-ya’?

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] are among my top favorite names, but in your set I like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] better. I wouldn’t put a nn with [name_f]Verity[/name_f] at all. [name_f]Talia[/name_f] is a good pick too, I’m just not personally much into T names. [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] is another I like with your set, but it does seem to lean a bit [name_m]German[/name_m], which might or might not be what you’re looking for.

First of all, I love you kids’ names!

I think [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] are too close. I really dislike the nn [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] and would nn [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] [name_f]Ana[/name_f], so that’s even moreso to close.

I love [name_f]Verity[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]! I think I’d choose [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f]

Also meant to say that I totally prefer [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Verity[/name_f]. Veri is a little odd [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

Voting for [name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f] - no rhyming issues with [name_f]Annika[/name_f], and no initials double up with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].

[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] and [name_f]Talia[/name_f] are far and away my favorites on your list. I also like [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Faith[/name_f].

Oh, I love [name_f]Verity[/name_f] in your set! Really like Veri as a nn too.

[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] is lovely as well, I don’t exclusively associate it with Paltrow. Vote still goes to [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], though.
