Evelina is lovely! I’ve had a soft spot for it since hearing it on SJ’s daughter too [name_f]My[/name_f] personal taste generally leans more towards the simpler [name_f]Eva[/name_f], but I really enjoy the gentle, lively sound of [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] and would love to meet someone with this name!
Evelina is nice! I admit to preferring just [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]!), but [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] is very sweet. It’s 100% legitimate; if you love it, I would encourage you to use it! [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] is beautiful and unexpected.
Is it eev-uh-lee-nuh or eev–lee-nuh or eev-uh-ly-nuh or eev-ly-na or something else?
I think it’s beautiful!
It’s so beautiful and underappreciated! I like its frilliness
In my opinion, I don’t think the name [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] is ideal. When she’s younger, she may love the romantic, fantasy-like name and her cute nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. However when she’s older, she may find [name_f]Evie[/name_f] to be a childish, girly name and [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] sounds like a name from a fairytale unlike her peers with more solid names. Also it sometimes sounds like “Evil Ina” or just has the word evil there so it might become a pain. If you like the [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/Evie, maybe [name_f]Neve[/name_f] (means snow and pronounced (nehve) or even [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] which she could go by [name_f]Evie[/name_f] in her early years but when she gets older she can use [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and maybe [name_f]Gen[/name_f] as a nn from her friends. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] still has that soft, magical touch, and is a known name but is still not common so no one else will share her name. It’s also a more suiting name for when she get older and becomes an adult. [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] I don’t think is a great name for when she grows up but of course pick whichever name you find best! Good luck
I like [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] a lot, but I do prefer [name_f]Evaline[/name_f] & [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] which are on my shortlist. I just think they sound a bit lighter. As others have said, the biggest downside for me is how much “[name_f]Eve[/name_f]” and “Av” names are out there. [name_m]Just[/name_m] like the handful of [name_f]Lyla[/name_f]'s and [name_f]Lily[/name_f]'s!
Thank you!
I see. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] are gorgeous names too.
Thx everyone for all the lovely replies. I am not looking for a baby or something, just wanted to know what you guys think of [name_f]Evelina[/name_f]! Also I pronounce it:
eh - veh - lee - na
I adore [name_f]Evelina[/name_f]! Pretty sound and pretty meaning… and so many good nicknames. I don’t even see how it could be not legitimate.
I love it!
I pronounce it as [name_f]Eve[/name_f]-leen-ah.
I like it! I think it’s really pretty and sweet. You don’t hear it too often and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] fits well with it.
I like it alot, but in my jersey accent said quickly it sounds like Evil Leader.
Frilly and magical. The only problem I have with it is the pronunciation, alongside with most Ev- names . I don’t think it reminds me of Evil, as [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and its variants are rather established and popular. I kinda prefer the Ehv pronunciation too
!
It’s sweet and elegant to me. And reminds me of [name_f]Fanny[/name_f] [name_m]Burney[/name_m]’s novel.
I like it! It has this magical feel to it, and sounds beautiful. The fact that it’s not a common name just makes it more special.
Thank you!
