Hey guys! I love the name [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], but for a girl! I know it’s very unusual, but what do you guys think?!? I have the name [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], but my DH is scared it might be a little too out there!
I really don’t like it for a girl, it has so many masculine qualities that I don’t think it transfers well. It doesn’t have a girly nickname, either, which is how I think a lot of male names got to the girls’ side.
What about [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]? Or [name_u]Sutton[/name_u]? Maybe the Irish Liadan?
I would be very surprised to meet a girl named [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], the name is all boy to me. It is a popular boys name at that. There are a lot of little [name_m]Linc[/name_m]'s where I live. I think [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is beautiful and if you do choose a boy name for your daughter, I think a feminine name as a middle would be a must. I had a friend named [name_u]Alex[/name_u] growing up that always got put in boy’s PE at the beginning of the school year and hated it. I think a feminine middle name would make those sort of issues less likely.

[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] (surname)? Hopefully your last name’s first initial doesn’t spell anything (LOW, LOP, etc) and that it’s single syllable.
My last name is Mcthy. So it would [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] Mcthy. LOM (:
I prefer it on a boy to be honest. I like the the nn’s [name_m]Linc[/name_m] and [name_m]Cole[/name_m]
I’m sorry, I do not like [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] on a girl. I agree with your husband, it’s too far out there.
Maybe try a more universally accepted unisex name; like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], [name_u]Kyle[/name_u], [name_u]Cory[/name_u], [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], [name_u]Terry[/name_u]/i or [name_u]Jamie[/name_u].
Or a feminine spin on a masculine name; like [name_f]Jonna[/name_f] or [name_u]Shaine[/name_u].

[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] is a boys name to me and I love it on a boy. I can’t see it on a girl.
It is too masculine for my taste. I can’t picture it on a little girl.
I wouldn’t use it for a girl but I do like for a boy.
