My husband and I are (still) TTC and I am OBSESSED with names! It took us almost the entire 9 months of my pregnancy with my son to come up with 2 names that we liked… and the girls name we had chosen (before we found out the sex) I no longer like!
Here is my list… what do you think? Any additional suggestions?
just as a note we spelled our sons name [name]Josef[/name] due to my husbads familiy living overseas in a spanish speaking country and not having the PH in their alphabet (its hard enough getting them to prounouce the J)… SAME goes for [name]Tomas[/name]! That is how you spell it in Spanish! We are not just inventing [name]UNIQUE[/name] spelling!
My husband is hispanic and I am of russian and irish background!
[name]Tomas[/name] and [name]Josef[/name] are legitimate spellings, I think most of us know that you’re not coming up with unique spellings.
With [name]Josef[/name], my favorites are [name]Tomas[/name] and [name]Dmitri[/name]. I especially like [name]Tomas[/name] if you’re pronouncing it toe-mas, not like [name]Thomas[/name].
[name]Vincent[/name] - I love [name]Vincent[/name], it sounds great with brother [name]Josef[/name].
[name]Peter[/name] - I like it, it’s definitely underused these days. It sounds so innocent and magical because of the [name]Peter[/name] [name]Pan[/name] and [name]Peter[/name] Rabbit connections.
[name]Lewis[/name] - I like the sound of it a lot, but [name]Lewis[/name] and [name]Josef[/name] don’t sit well in my opinion. I slightly prefer [name]Louis[/name].
[name]Desmond[/name] - I don’t really have any strong feelings towards [name]Desmond[/name]. It’s not my style, but I have nothing against it.
[name]Tomas[/name] - [name]Tomas[/name] and [name]Josef[/name] seem like such natural brothers. I like it a lot.
[name]Blane[/name] - I don’t like [name]Blane[/name] at all, but mostly because I knew an awful [name]Blaine[/name]. It doesn’t have much against your other lovely classics.
[name]Finnian[/name] - I love this. I see [name]Finnegan[/name] thrown around a lot on NB but I like this a lot more.
[name]Dmitri[/name] - see [name]Desmond[/name].
[name]Vincent[/name]-[name]Lovely[/name] name. [name]Love[/name] meeting little [name]Vincents[/name].
[name]Peter[/name]-Not my style at all.
[name]Lewis[/name]-[name]Love[/name] it as much as [name]Vincent[/name].

[name]Blane[/name]: Eh, this isn’t such a good name. I like the spelling [name]Blaine[/name] better.
[name]Finnian[/name]: I’m not sure how I feel about this name. I like it, but there’s something that says I don’t like it either.

[name]Vincent[/name]- eh I don’t have a very good image. [name]Don[/name]'t like the sound. Its like its trying to sound tough but its actually pretty nerdy in my opinion. (Not in a good way either)
[name]Peter[/name]- boring sorry. Also I can’t help but think of Family [name]Guy[/name]…
[name]Lewis[/name]- same as [name]Vincent[/name]…
[name]Desmond[/name]- handsome and strong sounding. [name]Desi[/name] would be a cool nickname.
[name]Tomas[/name]- I know a really weird and creepy guy around my neighborhood named [name]Thomas[/name]…I can’t help but think of him. Also the name just doesn’t sound appealing in any way ( in my opinion)
[name]Blane[/name]- prefer the [name]Blaine[/name] spelling. [name]Blane[/name] is okay but it just sounds very close to plain.
[name]Finnian[/name]- same as [name]Desmond[/name]. I love love love [name]Finnian[/name] and love love love [name]Finn[/name].
[name]Dmitri[/name]- I prefer the [name]Dimitri[/name] spelling. Its the one I have on my list for my son. I could go on and on about what I love about it.
I’m jealous you can use [name]Tomas[/name],I think it’s so handsome, but it’s my brothers name - so off limits. [name]Josef[/name] and [name]Tomas[/name] are so perfect with each other.
Vincent: This isn’t really my style, but I think it’s a strong handsome name and a nice choice.
Peter: Too plain.
Lewis: I don’t really like this, I’m not sure why.
Desmond: I really don’t like it, it feels dowdy to me.
Tomas: Not my style, but I think it works well with your son’s name.
Blane: This is ok, I prefer Blaine.
Finnian: This is my favourite! I think it’s a bit quirky and cute, Finn would be a cute nickname.
Dmitri: I really don’t like this one, I just don’t like the sound of the name.
I think [name]Vincent[/name] is a good, solid name.
[name]Peter[/name], to me, is very dull.
[name]Lewis[/name], don’t really care for either. Esp. this spelling.
I love [name]Desmond[/name]! esp. with the nn [name]Des[/name]/[name]Dez[/name].
I like [name]Tomas[/name] and think it sounds the best with [name]Josef[/name].
[name]Blane[/name] I HATE. Lots of other ppl seem to like it though.

And [name]Dmitri[/name] is cool I think, and sounds pretty good with [name]Josef[/name] too.

[name]Peter[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name] :). It’s such a gentle, timeless classic that you can’t go wrong.
[name]Lewis[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t particularly care one way or the other.
[name]Desmond[/name] - Sorry, but it sounds like a 60-year-old man to me.
[name]Tomas[/name] - This is lovely with [name]Josef[/name].
[name]Blane[/name] - NMS I’m afraid. Plus I know someone really annoying with the surname [name]Blaine[/name] which colours it too.

[name]Dmitri[/name] - I love [name]Dmitri[/name] (particularly at the moment as I was watching [name]Anastasia[/name] last night) and it goes well with [name]Josef[/name], though I imagine most people would think you were Russian, though if you don’t mind that it’s not a problem.
[name]Vincent[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it, going to use it next.
[name]Peter[/name] - Never liked it.

[name]Tomas[/name] - I agree with others that this name is perfect with [name]Josef[/name]. Look no further.

[name]Finnian[/name] - Used to have this on my list, still like it.
[name]Dmitri[/name] - Also had Demitry on my list but took it off because I dislike its meaning. [name]Love[/name] it otherwise.
