[name]Matilda[/name] - the swagman/billabong association is really strong for me, but I don’t hate it.

[name]Josephine[/name] - sweet and classic and girly. I like it but probably wouldn’t consider it for a FN. I love the nns [name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Posey[/name], though!
[name]Eloise[/name] - I want to like it but I am not a huge fan. A personal acquaintance ruined it for me, but I do love the nns [name]Ella[/name] and [name]Lola[/name]!
[name]Marina[/name] - not a fan, sorry. I used to love it, but I’m really a fan anymore. It seems quite dated to me, actually. Sorry.
[name]Matilda[/name] - I don’t love it but I like it. I adore the nn [name]Tilly[/name]!
[name]Annabel[/name] - love. If [name]Isabelle[/name] wasn’t my favorite girls’ name, I’m fairly sure [name]Annabel[/name] would be on my top five.
[name]Alice[/name] - I like it a lot, but it never quite seems to make my list.
[name]Eleanor[/name] - This is a MN on my list ([name]Arianne[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Kate[/name]), but I avoid it as a FN since I’m not crazy about most of the nns everyone loves for this ([name]Ellie[/name], [name]Nell[/name], [name]Nora[/name]/[name]Norah[/name]).
[name]Gwendolyn[/name] - love! I think [name]Gwen[/name], [name]Winnie[/name], and [name]Leni[/name] are adorable nns for it. It was on my list several months ago, and I still adore it.
[name]Aurora[/name] - love! [name]Isabelle[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is my favorite girls’ name. If [name]Aurora[/name] went with my LN better, it’d probably be a FN consideration, too. I love the nns [name]Ari[/name] and [name]Rory[/name].
[name]Valentina[/name] - like a lot. I wouldn’t use it but I love the nn [name]Leni[/name] for it.
[name]Eleni[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]! [name]Eleni[/name] is on my top 10. She’s so spunky and sweet and despite the fact that it really doesn’t fit with my other favorites, I can’t help but adore her. She’s perfect.
[name]Arabella[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Arabella[/name], too! I don’t think I would ever use it because I would want both an [name]Ari[/name] and a [name]Bella[/name]/[name]Belle[/name], but I do adore her.
[name]Penelope[/name] - I love her nns (particularly [name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Lola[/name]), but I don’t really love the name itself. It’s always felt a bit boring to me.
[name]Clara[/name] - love! She’s a MN on my own list.
[name]Adeline[/name] - I like it a lot, but I slightly prefer [name]Adele[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name].
[name]Annika[/name] - love. [name]Annika[/name], nn [name]Annie[/name], is on my long list. She’s sporty and sweet.
[name]Delilah[/name] - much as I want to like this, I can’t. The Biblical associations ruin it for me. I love [name]Lila[/name], though.
[name]Honora[/name] - I like it, but I like [name]Annora[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]/[name]Eleanora[/name] more.
[name]Sylvie[/name] - love! She’s so French and chic.

[name]Annabel[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Arabella[/name], [name]Eleni[/name], [name]Clara[/name], and [name]Annika[/name] are my favorites.

[name]Clara[/name] – [name]ADORE[/name]. If it didn’t have my name in it (albeit with a different pronunciation!) it would be on my list
[name]Adeline[/name] – for some reason, I think of the [name]George[/name] Strait song “Adalida.” I think I prefer simple [name]Adele[/name]

[name]Honora[/name] – I don’t know whether I’m saying it right, but it comes out sounding something like “annoy 'er!”

[name]Josephine[/name] - I am starting to fall in love with this name and [name]Josephine[/name] [name]March[/name] is helping me along. [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Jo[/name] on a girl. [name]Josie[/name] is adorable as well.

[name]Marina[/name] - Growing up on boats that is all I think of.
[name]Matilda[/name] - Not awful, but not my favorite.
[name]Annabel[/name] - [name]Love[/name], though I prefer [name]Anabel[/name] for spelling.
[name]Alice[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! Hits my literary soul, is a family name, and is just lovely in general.
[name]Eleanor[/name] - Also love. Torn between the two spellings myself. [name]Elinor[/name] makes me think [name]Elinor[/name] Dashwood and brings a smile to my face :slight_smile:
[name]Gwendolyn[/name] - Not my style. Also I knew a girl in high school who was [name]Gwendolyn[/name] and she was… not very nice.
[name]Aurora[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! More good associations all around!
[name]Valentina[/name] - Meh. This one doesn’t thrill me.
[name]Eleni[/name] - Not my style, it really does nothing for me.
[name]Arabella[/name] - Not my favorite, but I do like it. A good alternative to the horribly popular [name]Isabella[/name].
[name]Penelope[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! And so many nickname possibilities. I love nicknames so that is a big plus for me.
[name]Clara[/name] - Not my favorite.
[name]Adeline[/name] - I really like this and have since I read Chinese [name]Cinderella[/name] by [name]Adeline[/name] Yen Mah. Such a pretty name.
[name]Annika[/name] - Reminds me of Annikan Skywalker. Can’t shake the association.
[name]Delilah[/name] - “Hey there [name]Delilah[/name]” So lovely! Too bad one of my sisters used it on her dog :stuck_out_tongue:
[name]Honora[/name] - I prefer [name]Honor[/name], and am not over the moon for it either.

Oh we love a lot of the same names =)

[name]Josephine[/name] is gorgeous but I’d never use it as a first name - for me it is a wonderful middle name. I’m not particularly keen on names that cross over so easily e.g. [name]Joseph[/name]/[name]Josephine[/name], [name]Theodore[/name]/[name]Theodora[/name], [name]Henry[/name]/[name]Henrietta[/name] etc.

[name]Eloise[/name] is so soft and girly, I really like it.

[name]Matilda[/name] used to be my favourite girls name, but it grew in popularity, which put me off. However, it’s creeping back up my list! It’s just a beautiful name and I like the nicknames [name]Mattie[/name] and [name]Tilly[/name].

[name]Annabel[/name] is beautiful, and a nice change from [name]Isabelle[/name]/a. [name]Arabella[/name] is my favourite girls name, which is similar.

[name]Alice[/name] is perfect - short, and simple. It makes a wonderful middle name too.

[name]Aurora[/name] is so cool and edgy - I met an [name]Aurora[/name] recently and it made me love the name more.

[name]Valentina[/name] is another name on my list, but as a middle name because it honours my mom. I love it’s frilly-ness and how it would be unlikely to meet another [name]Valentina[/name]. What nickname do you like or would you not use one? I’ve always leaned more towards the nickname [name]Vali[/name] (prn. like valley).

Oh I didn’t see [name]Arabella[/name] on your list, love this and can’t think of anything negative about it!

[name]Penelope[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Annika[/name], [name]Delilah[/name] and [name]Honora[/name] are all stunning and pretty much perfect - can’t go wrong with any of those.

[name]Sylvie[/name] is cute, and sounds much modern then [name]Sylvia[/name] despite just the one letter change. This could definitely grow on me!

The only ones I don’t like are [name]Marina[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name] (I don’t mind this but it’s the inevitable nn [name]Ellie[/name] that I can’t stand), [name]Gwendolyn[/name] and [name]Eleni[/name].

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], lovely, lovely. Though I prefer this in the middle. nn [name_f]Effy[/name_f].
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - Pretty. I prefer this over [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u].
[name_f]Marina[/name_f] - I like the connection to the sea, but there’s something stopping me from liking the name itself. nn [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] but hate her popularity. nn [name_f]Maud[/name_f] or [name_f]Tilly[/name_f].
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - Pretty, but it’s getting boring. nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - Classic, but sounds exactly like my surname, so I can’t love this name. I like the [name_f]Alice[/name_f] in Wonderland connection however.
