Which spelling do you prefer, and what are your thoughts on the name in general? Would you use it, if so what nicknames do you like? Sibling sets in mind? Etc.
I’ve always been fond of the name, I remember being around 5 or 6 and having a “pet” ladybug that I lovingly named [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]. I was heartbroken when she escaped and “abandoned” me.
[name_f]Becca[/name_f] is a nickname I’m very fond of, though I think I prefer the spelling [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f].
I’m not sure if it would work with older sister [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] though.
I like [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]/[name_f]Rebekah[/name_f]. It’s a classic beauty that never really goes out of style. I’ve known people with both spellings and I can’t say that I really have a favorite. As for nicknames, I like [name_f]Becca[/name_f]/Bekah but my favorite nickname right now is Bex.
I think it would be fine paired with [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f].
I like the spelling [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]. Although it’s a really classic name, and I love it, it has really dipped in popularity in recent years… it seems to have peaked in the 1970s/80s. Maybe it’s a bit dated… or, maybe it’s due for a revival?
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], but I know one [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] and I can’t use it. Prefer [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] spelling and I think [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] is Italian version of name [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f].
I like the name [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], but I only like the Biblical spelling, [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] just looks wrong. My older sister’s name is [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] and we call her [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], [name_f]Becka[/name_f], and [name_u]Beck[/name_u]. My brother-in-law’s gf name is [name_f]Rebecka[/name_f], and she goes by [name_m]Bec[/name_m].
I think any classic names suit [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] for siblings. My name is [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and my brother is [name_m]Nathan[/name_m], and I think our names sound great together ([name_f]Becka[/name_f], [name_u]Jo[/name_u] and [name_m]Nathan[/name_m]).
The only thing is, it is very popular for girls in their late 20’s, my sister has about 15 friends all name [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f]/[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]/[name_f]Rebecka[/name_f] all who are 26 upwards. But I’m yet to see a young girl with the name.
I definitely feel like [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] is the better spelling. I’m not fond of the name or the nn’s. I know some [name_f]Becky[/name_f]'s who aren’t that great.
As per the actual popularity -ecca is 178 and -eckah is 400 something. So [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] is the more commonly used spelling.
I prefer [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]. Kind of reminds me of the [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] Riots but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, nor will everyone have heard of them. However I don’t like [name_f]Becky[/name_f] or [name_f]Becca[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], or [name_f]Ree[/name_f] or Reeree. [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] is an alright spelling, got nothing against it, just prefer [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f].
It would be fine with [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]; both names are used in [name_f]Italy[/name_f].
I prefer the [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] spelling! I think the nickname I’m most fond of is [name_f]Becca[/name_f] or [name_f]Becky[/name_f] however I probably prefer [name_f]Becky[/name_f].
I was able to name my baby sister who was many years younger than I. I chose [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]. I soon wished I had chosen [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] as there seemed to be many other [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]'s as well. She has always wished her name was spelled [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], She is called [name_f]Becca[/name_f] but would have loved the spelling to have been Bekah in being more original.
I much prefer [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], as I think it looks much prettier and more elegant than [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Becca[/name_f] is a cute nickname but I also like [name_f]Reba[/name_f] or [name_u]Rebel[/name_u], or Rebka/[name_f]Revka[/name_f]/[name_f]Rivka[/name_f] for nicknames
Actually, [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] is the original Biblical spelling of the name that uses our alphabet. The Latin Vulgate, dating from the 4th Century A.D., was the translation of the Bible used by Christians/the church for well over a thousand years – and it only spelled the name as “[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]” – until the 1600s when the Bible was finally translated into the [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] English version. At that time, translators of the Old Testament spelled it [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], while translators of the [name_m]New[/name_m] Testament spelled it [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] (see Romans 9:10). (The Hebrew version of the name used a completely different set of characters and did not use our alphabet.)
Matching names aren’t that important, but the names I prefer include and match well with [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]…[name_f]Raphaela[/name_f], [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f], [name_f]Giada[/name_f], Dionesia, [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], etc. [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] makes me think ‘Sunnybrook Farm’ and [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] looks very Biblical. Both versions are sweet, though.
I usually prefer C’s to K’s, but for some reason that changes with this name as I greatly prefer [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f]. To me, when spelled [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] the name feels bland and dated (somewhat stuck in the 70’s/80’s), however, if spelled [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], though it still has a dated feel, it’s more vintage, but like spunky vintage. I think it’s the sharp K and the [name_m]AH[/name_m] ending which feels modern due to the common use of adding H’s to the end of names these days.
[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] make a really nice duo I think - they work together beautifully in my opinion.
[name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] has always been in my top 5 names. I love the [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] spelling. I think when it is spelled [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] it looks fake and I really just hate that spelling. I am pregnant with a girl and her name will be [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] (she will have 2 middle names) I think your daughter [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] will go well with [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f]
[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]/[name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] is a very pretty classic that ages well. I absolutely love the [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] spelling. I’m another who usually prefers C’s to K’s, but something about this spelling makes it pop out so much more to me. My favorite nickname is Bekah, but if I had the choice I would avoid a nickname entirely. I don’t think I would use [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] because to me the nickname [name_f]Becky[/name_f] seems almost unavoidable and I really dislike it.
[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] would go great together.
My middle name is [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] and I’ve always been so grateful that my parents chose that spelling…there is just something about [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] that I can’t like. You wouldn’t have thought spelling would make a huge difference but I honestly think [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] looks so much nicer. As a first name in 2014…I think it’s nice and refreshing. Slightly ordinary but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Go for it
I prefer [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] because I dislike the cleanliness of [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]. She works really well with [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f].
My best friend is called [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f]. Despite me knowing a few Rebeccas throughout my life, [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] now appears as the “correct” spelling to me, probably because that’s the one I’m the most used to? My friend goes by either [name_f]Beckah[/name_f] or [name_u]Beck[/name_u] mostly, sometimes [name_f]Becky[/name_f].
