Opinions on the name Addison for a boy?

Hello. I’m not having a child and I don’t plan on having one anytime soon (I’m only 15) I’m just curious about what people thing of the name [name_u]Addison[/name_u] for a boy. I know a girl named [name_u]Addison[/name_u] and I met a boy named [name_u]Addison[/name_u] today so I was just curious. Thanks :).

It’s originally a masculine name. I like it on a boy.

Most people would assume [name_u]Addison[/name_u] was a girl. He’d probably get tired having to correct people, unfortunately.
That said, I could easily imagine it as a middle name on a boy.

I am tired of it for girls. It’s cute on a girl I guess, but would be refreshing on a boy, as is [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_u]Madison[/name_u], and [name_u]Avery[/name_u].
I’d like to see more boys named [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_u]Addison[/name_u], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_u]Payton[/name_u].

I don’t see anything wrong with it for a boy, but I’m not a huge fan of the name - it seems a little overused/dated for girls at least right now, but maybe in a decade or so when you’re having kids it’ll be different

I prefer [name_u]Addison[/name_u] for a boy, but I’m not a fan of the name in general. I think [name_u]Addison[/name_u] and [name_u]Madison[/name_u] are becoming a bit dated, and at the very least are way overused.

Have you considered [name_u]Avery[/name_u] or [name_m]Emmerson[/name_m]?

[name_u]Addison[/name_u] would make a good middle name, I agree!

My cousin had a son and named him [name_u]Addison[/name_u] last year. He goes by [name_f]Addi[/name_f]. I think it suits him well.
