I’ve just been thinking about the name [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] recently, and would like to hear your opinions and what comes to mind when you hear it. Is it sweet or “trying too hard” (as I’ve heard someone say)?

absolutely love Roxanne!! I think of the Sting song when i hear it. i don’t think it sounds like you’re trying to hard at all. To me it’s a spunky retro name, but also sounds very classy. Also love [name_f]Roxana[/name_f]. And it has a cool nickname too. <3

I do love the song but makes it a tough name to consider for a real baby.

roxanne is cute! the song association is kind of strong, but i think it’s still wearable. roxanne “roxy” or “rocky” would be cute!

It is a well established well known name, so I don’t see how it is “try hard”. I think [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] is beautiful.

I love this name, especially with the nickname [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] but it’s also beautiful without a nickname. [name_f]My[/name_f] main associations are the song “Roxanne” and also the musical [name_f]Chicago[/name_f], but I don’t think there’s any association so strong I wouldn’t use the name or think of it as a “one person/character” name. I would totally use this name.

I think it’s quite a glamourous name with a bit of a rock n roll vibe to it. Especially the nm [name_f]Roxy[/name_f], which I love. It’s not my usual style but I do have a secret soft spot for this name!

I really love it. We have family in Switzerland and my young SIL has a little friend called [name_f]Roxane[/name_f] 
Seeing the streamlined [name_u]French[/name_u] spelling on a super sweet, chic little girl really made me look at this name in a different light. I do prefer it with one N but [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] is bright as a button and due an early revival IMHO!

I don’t dislike it, but I really can’t help but think of The Police song when I hear the name. It’s such a strong association!
For some reason, I really love the version [name_f]Roxana[/name_f] (rox-ahn-ah) though. There’s a British YouTuber with a daughter called [name_f]Roxana[/name_f] “Roxie” and I think it’s so adorable!

I [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]! I prefer the [name_f]Roxane[/name_f] spelling, but that is just me. I love the meaning, sound, look, all of it! It would be so cool to meet a little [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] in the real life! this name puts a smile on my face!

I really like Roxanne. It really gives off a cool, chill, rock ‘n’ roll vibe. Super relaxed about most things, but ready to fight and jump into action where necessary. I definitely don’t think it’s trying too hard. I really love Roxy too! And Roxana (which reminds me of Lwaxana Troi from Star Trek)! They’re all great!
