It’s one of my favorites that i wish to use someday. It’s so classic, beautiful and strong and [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] is a cute nickname!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it. It was on my list before we found out we are having another boy. I had both [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] on my list. I think I tend to lean slightly more towards [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] over [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], but I think most people think [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] ages better with the option of using [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] as a nickname if wanted.

I love it!! It’s on my list for a first or middle, and it works out because my husband has a great-grandparent with the name! I think with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] coming back, [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is next

I really like it! It has a grounded warmth, and I love the story of [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], and especially [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]! It’s a name with lots of history and familiarity, but not super common among babies. It’s fairly easy to say and spell, and it was a gorgeous and sweet meaning! I think [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] could suit all kinds of children and I’d love to hear it more often!

I like [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] or [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] personally!

I love the name Ruth! It has a sweet sound, beautiful meaning, & the perk of being associated with a courageous/kind/hardworking woman in the Bible

It’s grown on me - I find it a teeny bit harsh, but I love the meaning and the distinctive sounds

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is gorgeous!

Honestly such a lovely name she’s classic, ever so timeless, has peaceful wholesome imagery attached, oozing grace and simplicity. I have the meaning ā€˜compassionate friend’ along with the biblical history. The nickname [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] has lovely cottagecore imagery attached. I think [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is great! In a dream world I would pair [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] with something whimsical like [name_u]Meadowlark[/name_u] or [name_u]Indigo[/name_u].

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is a beautiful, classic name. I once saw an artist’s painting of the biblical [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and it made me love the name even more.

I immediately warm to it because the story of [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] was one of my biblical favourites and nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] is beyond precious. I wouldn’t choose it myself because I think it’s a little too short and soft for my liking, but I’d be so happy to meet a tiny [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]!

I like it. Not sure I could go ahead and use it because it’s still a bit ā€œstruthā€ - Brit/Aussie slang that no one uses in a non ironic way but it’s harsh and broad sounding. I love similar names [name_f]Esther[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] but not sure I could commit to [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. Having said all this, am glad it’s having another moment!

I love [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], I grew up friends with one (she actually has a sister Naomi!) and think it has a lovely warm cottagecore sound. It’s a beautiful deep red colour in my head. It also reminds me of Swallows and Amazons in which a character named [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] picks a new name because pirates are ruthless :laughing:šŸ«¶šŸ» so I guess, adventurous but vintage vibes for me.

I like it, but I think it could only be usable as a middle name

I love it by sound only but all I think when I hear it is that scene from Goonies when Chunk offers Sloth a baby ruth bar.

I have a 13-year-old niece named [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], and she has sisters [name_f]Esther[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] (also [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] and Abigail…) Something about that style.

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is not my personal favorite, but it’s due for a comeback. It’s a sweet name.

I have personally had bad experiences with Ruths, so I’m not really a fan. [name_f]My[/name_f] great aunt was [name_f]Mamie[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and also just went by [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] sometimes and she was a mess and a half. [name_u]Super[/name_u] opinionated and judgemental. Then I worked with a [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] over 10 years ago who was an outright bully. So yeah, it’s not for me. If it weren’t for those associations I’d probably have it on my own list since it’s also my husband’s great aunt’s name and he has a good association with it. :person_shrugging:
