Opinions on these names

Hi, not expecting or having children anytime soon, just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on these names:
Hugo- I love this name, but I’ve heard it’s a ‘posh’ name in the UK. [name_m]Can[/name_m] anyone confirm this or what the associations are with this name? I’m in the US, so it doesn’t exactly matter to me, just curious what people think about it. Also any nn suggestions (minus [name_m]Hugh[/name_m])?
Elias
Leo- Kind of short for me, similar names?
Levi
Hayes- I like this name, but don’t love it and there are zero nn options since it’s so short. Thoughts?
Theodore- Is this name going to just become more and more popular? I love the nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u] too, just not sure of it.
Wyatt
Luca- [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t like [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], but [name_u]Luca[/name_u] is nice. Thoughts?
Caspian- Probably would never use is it as a fn, only a mn. However, do you think of the literature association/the [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] sea first? [name_u]Or[/name_u] is it just a name?
Miles
Vincent- This is a newly added name onto my list and I love the nn [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u], thoughts?
Liam- Super popular in the US, so kind of deters me away from it
Ashton
Henry- One of the more classical names on my list
Elijah
James
Lorenzo- Another ‘L’ name with a nn that I like ([name_m]Enzo[/name_m]), but not sure about it.

[name_u]Brit[/name_u] here  [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] definitely used to have a slightly upper-crusty air to it, but it’s become pretty mainstream now. To me, it feels handsome and distinguished but also cute and cuddly, and it’s got that easy international appeal which makes it feel very approachable.

[name_f]My[/name_f] other favourites are [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m] (maybe [name_m]Leon[/name_m] or [name_u]Theo[/name_u], if [name_m]Leo[/name_m] feels too short?), [name_u]Luca[/name_u] (beautiful!), [name_u]Miles[/name_u], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] (super classic and the V makes it feel strong and cool) and [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

For [name_m]Leo[/name_m]-

Kaleo (kaw-lay-oh, Hawaiian meaning the voice)
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonard[/name_m]

I know this is short, but I hope it helps. ALso, WDYT of [name_m]Luan[/name_m]?

I like [name_m]Luan[/name_m], it just sounds similar to a family member of mine, so I wouldn’t personally use it but the meaning is lovely

Hugo - [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is so sweet and quirky. It does have a slightly posh feel but I don’t think it’s pretentious. Huie/Hewie as a nickname?
Elias -sleek, bright and cool
Leo - [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is bouncy and sweet. [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_u]Milo[/name_u] and [name_u]Orion[/name_u] as similar names
Levi -quite nice and handsome
Hayes - I think it’s really cool! You might like [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] nn [name_u]Hayes[/name_u] maybe? [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_m]Boone[/name_m] nn [name_u]Boo[/name_u] or [name_u]Brooks[/name_u] in a similar style
Theodore - I have come across several Theodores so it is getting more popular though. It is a lovely elegant name though
Wyatt -it’s okay, don’t love it or hate it
Luca - I love [name_u]Luca[/name_u]! [name_u]Bright[/name_u] and cute and cool

Hugo–I love love love this! It feels cozy yet bright and energetic! I’m in the US though so can’t comment on possible posh-ness in the UK.
[name_u]Elias[/name_u]–I really like this! It’s not my very favorite, but I definitely appreciate its gentle strength and lively sounds.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]–One of my absolute favorites–the only thing that bothers me about it is the popularity. I know a lot of [name_m]Leo[/name_m]’s. Similar names…[name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_u]Milo[/name_u], [name_u]Rio[/name_u]?
[name_u]Levi[/name_u]–I like it! [name_u]Bright[/name_u] and zippy.
[name_u]Hayes[/name_u]–I think Hazy would be an adorable nickname for this!
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]–I do think it’s going to become more popular as its been rising steadily the past several years. It’s a great name though, and I love [name_u]Theo[/name_u] (or even better, [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]!).
[name_u]Wyatt[/name_u]–Cool and energetic; a nice choice, but not my favorite from your list.
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]–I love this!! I’m with you here–not a big fan of [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] but [name_u]Luca[/name_u] is great. It feels lighter and fresher to me!
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m]–I think of [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] as very association-y…and then I don’t actually think of any particular associations  I like this quite a bit, especially as a middle. I prefer [name_m]Casper[/name_m].
[name_u]Miles[/name_u]–I really like this! It has a gentle, understated strength and energy that I really appreciate. A very solid choice.
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]–I think this one could grow on me. I’m not totally sold yet, but it’s very cool and has a sort of timeless stateliness about it!
[name_u]Liam[/name_u]–I agree with you that the popularity has deterred me a bit–I just know a lot.
[name_u]Ashton[/name_u]–It’s not my favorite from your list. [name_u]Ash[/name_u] would be a cool nn though!
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]–I really like this! It’s classic and stylish but friendly and approachable.
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]–I like it, but I like [name_u]Elias[/name_u] (or just [name_u]Eli[/name_u]!) more. This definitely has more of a Biblical flair, though, which could be a plus if you’re going for that!
[name_u]James[/name_u]–I really like this. It’s classic and timeless. I love [name_u]Jamie[/name_u].
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]–Ooh, this is fun! It’s not really my personal style but it definitely has energy and flair. It stands out from the rest of your list to me, but that’s not a bad thing. I love [name_m]Enzo[/name_m].

Ooo I love Hazy as a nn for [name_u]Hayes[/name_u]! Also yes I love [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_u]Eli[/name_u]. Thank you for all your input!

Hi there.

Here are my thoughts on the list:

Hugo-I’m in the U.S. too, but I still find this a bit snooty. I like [name_m]Hughie[/name_m] spelled this way. That may not make sense w/Hugo.

Elias-This is nice. It’s my favorite ‘[name_u]Eli[/name_u]’ name. It’s kind of exotic but also a little bit [name_u]Southern[/name_u] & just handsome.

Leo-It is short, but super cute & spunky. Getting a bit popular.

Levi-I like it, but it doesn’t quite sparkle to me for some reason. It’s perfectly nice & kind of cowboy-y. Maybe just a little over done.

Hayes-What about [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] nn [name_u]Hayes[/name_u]? I think just [name_u]Hayes[/name_u] on its own is fine though. I don’t love it, but it has a pleasant sound.

Theodore-I like it a lot. It’s so quirky & handsome & classic. And [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is really cute. I also like [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], [name_m]Thatch[/name_m] & Thax. [name_m]Thad[/name_m] & [name_m]Tad[/name_m] also work. It is getting super popular, but a great name.

Wyatt-I like it. It has a cool cowboy vibe.

Luca-I like this way more than [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]. [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] doesn’t do anything more me, but [name_u]Luca[/name_u] is just beautiful.

Caspian-I think of the literature association. Both Associations are perfectly nice. I don’t think that it’s too out there to use as a fn. I like the nns [name_m]Cas[/name_m] & Caspi.

Miles-Not a huge fan of this one. I think that [name_u]Milo[/name_u] is really cute, but I hear [name_u]Miles[/name_u] so often & it’s not terribly interesting. It’s not bad though.

Vincent-I think that it’s pretty nice. It’s not terribly common at all, but it well known. I don’t personally love [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u], but then again, I think I’d be excited to meet a little kid called that.

Liam-It is super popular, but a great name anyway.

Ashton-Not a huge fan of this. I like [name_u]Asher[/name_u], but this sounds a little more trendy.

Henry-I love it, but honestly, it’s more popular than [name_u]Liam[/name_u] in my area. It’s still a darling name. And I love the nn [name_m]Hank[/name_m].

Elijah-This is growing on me lately. It’s one of those pretty but still masculine boy names. I like [name_u]Elias[/name_u] slightly more, but this is good too. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is also less popular.

James-A handsome classic. Simple & polished & grows up well.

Lorenzo-This is really cool & unexpected. [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] is darling. I also like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as a nn for [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_u]Louie[/name_u].

Hope this helps.

Hugo - LOVE [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]; [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] was on my list a while back and I still love him. I wouldn’t use a nn, honestly, but I think you could use [name_m]Hughey[/name_m] or maybe even Go/Gogo.
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] - nice, but I prefer other [name_u]Eli[/name_u]- names like [name_m]Elihu[/name_m], [name_m]Eliam[/name_m], etc. more. I’m not a huge fan of the nn [name_u]Eli[/name_u] myself, so while I like him, I would only use him as a middle.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] - love [name_m]Leo[/name_m]! But if you want something longer, what about [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], [name_m]Leopold[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], or maybe even [name_u]Theo[/name_u]/Theophilus/Theodore/Theofield/Theophen, etc.?
[name_u]Levi[/name_u] - lovely name, although I prefer just [name_m]Lev[/name_m].
[name_u]Hayes[/name_u] - I like it a lot, but prefer it as a middle.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] - I can almost guarantee it will. It’s nice, but it’s becoming a huge favorite across the board. If you’re okay with a more religious name, I think something like [name_m]Theophilus[/name_m] is a great alternative. I also like Theofield.
[name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] - nice, but I don’t love it–of cowboyish names, I like [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_m]Boone[/name_m], [name_u]Grayson[/name_u], etc., more.
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] - eh, I’m just not wowed by [name_u]Luca[/name_u]. I like [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] or [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] or even [name_m]Luke[/name_m] more. It’s okay though.
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] - LOVE it as a middle, but agree that I wouldn’t use it up front. I’m a huge [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] fan, so I think [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] first, then the [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]Sea[/name_u].
[name_u]Miles[/name_u] - lovely! It’s really grown on me since I’ve become an American football fan. There’s a [name_u]Miles[/name_u] on my team I love watching play and it’s come to have a great association for me. I would only use it in the MN spot but I do like him!
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] - I like it, but prefer it as a middle. I have a very good friend named [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], so maybe that’s why it’s always put me off up front?
[name_u]Liam[/name_u] - it’s nice enough, but it’s so mega popular. I like [name_m]William[/name_m] more, but am not a huge fan of [name_m]Will[/name_m]- names or variants in general. [name_u]Willow[/name_u] is the exception.
[name_u]Ashton[/name_u] - it’s nice enough, but I prefer [name_u]Ash[/name_u], [name_u]Asher[/name_u], or even [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] nn [name_u]Ash[/name_u].
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] - so classic, I agree! I can’t imagine me with a [name_m]Henry[/name_m], but I love it. I have it on my list as a middle for [name_m]Boaz[/name_m].
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] - I like it more than [name_u]Elias[/name_u], but I came across SO MANY in a 2-3 year period (25+ Elijahs and Alijahs!). I’ve met more Elijahs far and away than any other name in the world, so I would only ever consider it as a middle.
[name_u]James[/name_u] - very classic and handsome! I would only use it as a middle, but I like it a lot.
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] - I like [name_m]Enzo[/name_m], but I prefer the [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Lorenz[/name_m] (LOHR-enz) to [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m].

Good luck!

Hmm…
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] ~ as [name_u]Brit[/name_u] I agree with what @katinka said it’s has a upper class ‘posh’ sound but becoming more mainstream so this association isn’t as strong. I like Huggie as a nickname.

Elias ~ love this one it’s sweet with an attractive sound I like the nickname [name_u]Eli[/name_u]

Leo ~ I love this one as well [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is handsome, has great imagery feels like a summery happy name & I like that it’s short. Alternatively you could have [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_m]Leonard[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] or [name_m]Leandro[/name_m].

Levi ~ used to be a favourite of mine and can definitely see the appeal it’s fresh happy sounding with a cowboy edge

Hayes ~ again I like [name_u]Hayes[/name_u] I think it’s cool surname name has a quirky jazz sound it attractive fashionable choice.

Theodore ~ this is on my favourite boys list I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is handsome I like the nicknames [name_u]Theo[/name_u] & [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] also it’s just endearing. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name. For me because it’s a classic the popularity isn’t an issue the name doesn’t feel trendy

Wyatt ~ cowboy name see the appeal but not a favourite

Luca ~ I like this name it feels fresh with a nice Italian flair

Caspian ~ lovely choice I think it’s really cool can completely see the appeal and yes it has strong associations with the sea and literacy for me sea being stronger association but I don’t see it as an issue I think they are cool associations.

Miles ~ such a soft sweet name that to me feels romantic and dreamy. I really like [name_u]Miles[/name_u].

Vincent ~ have a soft spot for [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] it’s cool and I like the nickname [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u] very classic

Liam ~ simple choice I think it’s a nice name but prefer others on your list the other names feel more sparkly

Ashton ~ similar thoughts to [name_u]Liam[/name_u] it’s a nice name but prefer others on your list

Henry ~ ah I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] it’s dependable and classic just a sweet little name very classic

Elijah ~ on my list of favourites for boys I like [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] it’s strong dependable has great biblical references feels happy I like the nickname [name_u]Eli[/name_u].

James ~ a nice classic but similar thoughts to [name_u]Liam[/name_u] really

Lorenzo ~ I think it’s cool but if I didn’t have Italian/Spanish ancestry I wouldn’t use it just feels so overtly Italian/Spanish I think it would be strange to see an Irish kid with ginger hair called [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]!
