My cousin is [name_m]Trent[/name_m]. He recently graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. I think it’s a strong, masculine name, although others might have a hard time seeing it on a younger boy.

I like [name_m]Trent[/name_m]. I think it’s a versatile name - somewhat modern and fresh sounding (not dated or overused), but also familiar (not new or weird), easy to spell, and respectable. To me it’s definitely capable of having a “cool” vibe, but it’s also straightforward and can be taken seriously. A great choice.

I agree with everything that’s been said, sort of modern but definitely doesn’t bind him to any kind of preconception about age etc

Extremely versatile and handsome

I don’t like it. It comes across as a very bland name. It gets lost with all of the other Tr- names([name_m]Troy[/name_m], [name_u]Trace[/name_u], [name_m]Trey[/name_m]) and doesn’t feel insubstantial to me. I get a very country boy feel with it(and the Tr- names).

[name_m]Trent[/name_m] was one of the top names we considered using for my first son. I love how strong and masculine it sounds. I love how underused it is. It is simple yet handsome. But its simplicity is one of the reasons why we ended up never using it, and although it is still technically on our list for this LO due in [name_u]November[/name_u], it’s at the bottom of the list. The only association I really have with the name is [name_m]Trent[/name_m] Reznor. I think he is a musical genius and we love [name_m]NIN[/name_m], but I can never justify naming a child after a celebrity. If it had other associations, especially historical ones, then I am sure it would have had a better chance for us to use it. I still love it though. It just doesn’t have enough substance for me.

I understand! I came to the name first and then found out about the [name_m]NIN[/name_m] member’s name afterwards. It seems the name is loved by [name_m]NIN[/name_m] fans! I’m not sure I could name a baby out of fandom either, I considered [name_m]Hendrix[/name_m] but I think [name_m]Jimi[/name_m] Hendix overpowers.
I suspect I might love the name [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] because I loved bring me the horizon as a teen and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] “[name_u]Ollie[/name_u]” Sykes is the main singer/screamer.

[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is a name I do really like and always have, I just think it might be too popular, it kind of looks like O-Liver (human organ?), and I’m not sure how well it ages.

Thanks for all of the feedback on [name_m]Trent[/name_m]! In the end I’m quite unsure about it, now that it’s sat on my mind for the day. I think I still like names like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] more. [name_m]Trent[/name_m] decidedly has a different feel than what I’m going for.

I have a close friend name [name_m]Trent[/name_m], and I have always liked it, most likely due to the positive connotation I get from it.

I really like it
