Opinions on Wisteria Briar

I sound like a broken record talking about the name [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] but I can’t get enough of it! I know it’s quite unusual and maybe should be in the GP spot but I just love it so much.
With that being said, do you think it’s a usable name. After all it is just the name of a flower/plant. Names like [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_u]Holly[/name_u], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], and more are very common and my name is [name_f]Rose[/name_f] haha. When I mentioned it to some friends some didn’t mind it but others thought it was very weird and reminded them of “Hysteria”
What is your opinion?

Hmm, I do see how the name sounds a bit like hysteria, but many names have a similar “issue” but are useable nonetheless. I do personally struggle a bit to think of a person and not actual wisteria when I hear the name, but that’s just because I’m unfamiliar with it. It definitely sounds like it could be a name to me.

Wisteria as a name has a lovely vintage-y and slightly witchy appeal to me. And that vibe is just gorgeous!

I want to like it, I swear I do! But in my line of work (animal nutrition), keeping pathogens out of food is always on our minds, so I’m afraid this personally reminds me of the word Listeria too much :see_no_evil:

I’ve actually been mulling over [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] this past week! It’s kind of growing on me as an unusual nature middle name choice. I like the nickname idea of Wisty. I would have never connected it with hysteria or any other rhyming words.

ah yes, I’ve unfortunately heard this one too. Was trying to see if it reminded anyone else else of Listeria…well, it’s helpful to know haha! thank you!!

Wisteria is very pretty and whimsical

I think the name is really pretty! [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] didn’t remind me of hysteria at all.

It’s useable, but it’s not to my personal taste.

Yes I think it is useable. It is quite different.

Other less common flower names could be [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f].

I have always liked [name_u]Briar[/name_u] for a middle
Name too but my daughters name is [name_f]Rose[/name_f]…

I’m totally on board with [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f].
[name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] listens to bands that don’t even exist yet.

Wisteria sounds very ethereal and unique and definitely useable in my opinion! I love [name_u]Briar[/name_u] too, but I initially misread your title as [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and I have to say that I kinda prefer that! I think Wist or Wister would be cool nicknames.

I think it sounds magical! I used to collect pods from the wisteria tree in our back yard and drw faces on them to make them into dolls. [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] [name_u]Briar[/name_u] sounds like a fairy name to me, in a good way. Not in an over the top way at all, just that it feels whimsical and beautiful to me. [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] feels like [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] to me; it’s longer than most of the popular flower names, but just as usable imo.

I really like [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] [name_u]Briar[/name_u] ! I’d probably use [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] as a middle rather than a first but it’s still usable, I like [name_u]Issy[/name_u] or [name_f]Ria[/name_f] as nicknames !

I think [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] is very pretty!

I think [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] is gorgeous (both as a flower and a name). I’m finding [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] [name_u]Briar[/name_u] a bit clunky though. I honestly thought it was [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] when I first read it and thought that was an awesome combination!

Wisteria is a wonderful plant, word, and name. And [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] [name_u]Briar[/name_u] is divine.

I like [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] and lots of people think of virgin or vagina, but I don’t, so I wouldn’t worry about the [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f]/hysteria thing.

Love this comment. [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] listens to bands that don’t even exist yet! And the person who said it has a witchy quality. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]!

Wisteria is surprising, but totally wearable. I too get a delicate, witchy, slightly mysterious vibe from it — I think it’s because the “wist” syllable reminds me of the word “wistful”. I like that!

Love [name_u]Briar[/name_u] too, but I don’t love them together. Because they’re both kind of dark, mysterious, fairy-tale-esque botanical names, it’s a bit of overkill for me. Loving the [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] suggestions though! :black_heart:

I love [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f], and [name_u]Briar[/name_u] is nice, but together it seems a little bit witchy.

Wisteria [name_u]Briar[/name_u] is beautiful!! I dont think its too wild at all.

If you arent 100% about it, what about [name_f]Winona[/name_f]? It’s not a flower name though… but more heard of.
